[...]

Overall, Switch sales were up 5% week-on-week, while the market as a whole was down 6% in units.

Over on PlayStation 5, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart climbed eight spots to No.4 with sales increasing 38% week-on-week.

[...]

Last week's No.1, Focus' Aliens: Fireteam Elite, dropped to No.12 following a 77% decrease in sales.

Minecraft Switch, the true King of Games. Odds that it has reached 20 million on Switch?

Seeing Ratchet ping pong up and down the UK charts is hilarious.

I wanted to warn all the regular visitors of this thread that I'm going to take a detoxification break from the overall news / rumours cycle starting from later this week until October 1st ideally. This means that I won't be able to make at the very least next week's PAL Thread; in the most probable scenario I won't return to make PAL Threads until the beginning of October.

Thus, if anyone is interested in taking my place for PAL Threads until the end of the month at the latest, feel free to do it :P

Take as long as you need off … 🏖

I detoxified earlier this year due to the trio of politics, Covid-19 and global warming dominating the headlines as well as this place being miserable to lurk, and it was genuinely wonderful to exit the digital world for a month or so!

Numbers are definitely low, but I am still positively surprised about the GoT DC hold, I was suspecting it to drop very low on the charts after two weeks as a re-release with a digital upgrade option.

Spiderman PS4 making a comeback on the trailer wave :-D

Also isn't it a really bad launch for WRC 10? I am not following the sales for the series, but would expect a higher position during a slow period like now.

This is fucking nuts...I mean I know there are legs, but this is beyond my comprehension of that 😂
The Switch version of Minecraft regularly sets up shop in the top 10s/20s/30s all over the world. The physical version has very recently been on top of the Japanese charts for example.

I know that this might sound weird, but I've decided to walk back on what I said a few days ago which means that, of course, I'll still make the next PAL Threads. Without going much into detail I've realised that avoidance isn't always the answer. I sincerly apologise for making you worry and I'm very thankful for the posts in this thread.

Again, I'm sorry for the worry I caused.

Just take your time and don't fret if you make the next week a day late or so. Focus mainly on yourself and what's best for you!

How much has Minecraft sold on Switch compared to the other console/handheld versions?

From what I have read and seen is that JRPGs are very niche in the UK. Nicher than usual
I know, I like to compare it to games of the same type/genre within the same region

I know Octopath did around ~10-11k we know on NSW release UK. If anyone has first week numbers for other Tales of Games, that'd be good.
So ToA might be around that range. Hopefully higher given it's multiplat.
But again, it's one market physical sales. It's clear ToA is doing well overall.

Do we know how much Scarlet Nexus sold?

And if possible also Persona 5 and Dragon Quest XI just for comparison.

Also goddamn that split, 86% on PS.

More than double Scarlet Nexus seems very good for Tales. Mid-to-high Teens in terms of physical sales?

PS5 the top console by far for all 3 of those new releases this week. I guess PS5 UK owners like to buy/ pre-order new games physically.

Thanks, interesting to see the PS5 taking the lead even with the shortages.

It'll only be the large casual games that have a chance for PS4 to beat PS5, like CoD and FIFA. The shortages for PS5 have been due to how much they're selling, not how much they can get out.

If I didn't say I was expecting more from Tales of Arise in UK I would be lying even if we are talking just about retail, perhaps it is that my expectations rose to unrealistic levels due to its great Steam performance, but I don't think so. It at best did like 50% more than Zestiria or Berseria and notably below Xenoblade Chronicles 2 or Persona 5 and also some thousands below Octopath: Travelers or NieR: Automata.

And regarding the share by platform and that embarrassing 13% on Xbox One / Series it is time to acknowledge the elphant in the room and say how pathetic are software sales on Xbox ecosystem even in a market where the brand is strong like in UK with a big install base of comfortably over 6 million units.
