Lots of interesting characters in Three Houses, but some of them would be a little difficult to translate into interesting and reasonable Smash characters. Some are likable but don't seem like they have the personality of someone who would go and fight in Smash Bros happily. Byleth might be the most likely but Byleth has little to no personality and has a pretty traditional moveset so she would be pretty boring compared to the others.

And we're not voting for most likely, but most wanted.

Edelgard cause she's awesome. But have Bernadetta as an assist and when she comes in she shoots her bow, immediately regrets showing up at all, and runs off the screen screaming.

I'd prefer Edelgard personally, as Smash desperately needs more women. But considering Sakurai's protagonists-first mentality, it'll probably be Byleth (male by default) if we get anyone from Three Houses.

Of course, I'd also accept Claude, as we also need more people of color in Smash.

Drop Chrom and Lucina and put in Edelgard. There aren't any axe wielders in Smash so she'd be different

I mean, it would be nice to finally have a female-by-default gender choice character besides Inkling & Wii Fit Trainer. But on the other hand, I can't stand Female Byleth's design. Plus, knowing Sakurai, he'd probably go for Male Byleth as the default anyway (which I guess is fine since his problematic VA is being swapped out).

We have enough white boys(Dimitri) and girls(Edelgard)
Claude is one of the rarer chances to include a character that isnt white to the roster and I would be very disappointed if they miss that

It should be a Pokemon Trainer character that switches between the 3 house leads, each having a different weapon (axe, lance & bow).

Voted Claude but I really think if FETH was in Smash it would likely feel best if it somehow had gimmicks that reference what's unique about the game somehow. Maybe having Byleth act similarly to Pokemon Trainer (warp spells are a thing!) with Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude all acting as his students and/or have characters skills get better as they use them or something.

True, though Smash Ultimate's roster is in a situation where it's both starved for women & people of color. Though of the two, Smash needs the latter more desperately.

All three lords from Three Houses would present unique playstyles (due to their weaponry) from any currently present in Smash. Byleth, on the other hand, would be a very boring pick comparatively.

Hard to really choose one. They're all three the very best lords in the series, IMO. Dimitri has a firm place in my heart since I went Blue Lions first, but Edelgard would be a big win for female representation, and Claude for people of color.

Ultimately chose Claude as a PoC plus a character whose moveset would revolve entirely around bows seems really unique mechanically, whereas an axe is not mechanically very different from a hammer like Dedede uses, and a spear is effectively a long sword gameplay wise.

That said, if one does get in it'll be Edelgard or Byleth

It's basically a double-edged sword no matter what. If you add Claude, you bring in another person of color, but the female fighter ratio gets worse. But with Edelgard, you have the opposite problem. A classic case of Pick Your Poison (though you get a different kind of antidote for each one).

But again, this is Sakurai we're talking about, so it'll probably be neither & we get Byleth with the male version as the default.

They can always add female characters from other games. How many PoC characters have any chance?

Ideal scenario would be getting Urbosa and Elma so they can improve both ratios
