https://deadline.com/2022/05/amc-entertainment-adam-aron-amc-shareholders-meme-stock-1235019854/

AMC Entertainment CEO Adam Aron said most advice het gets in voluminous social media correspondence is "well intended" but "some may be hurled at us with an intent of actually harming me or the company." It's the first time he's publicly called out any problem with the new fan-run regime.

Meme investors saved AMC from bankruptcy, squeezing short sellers, who borrow stocks betting the price will fall. But continued volatility has generated hard-to-prove financial manipulation conspiracy theories among some of the circuit's shareholders.

Redditors might have a point - how can AMC stock possibly be going down when we're getting these sweet popcorn buckets vessels for this year's MCU releases. The only possible explanation is conspiracy that the meme stock isn't going infinitely up as all meme stocks should naturally do, especially the meme ones where the hedge funds have to keep on losing forever because many holding stocks defeats the hedge funds. That is what the great upvoted sticky told me.

Don't worry, they're totally going to convince streamers that have a business model based on having content and being the first ones to show their exclusively made content to show those movies in theaters!

... By making no compromises and saying they have to have launch exclusivity at the same length as everyone else.

Elsewhere in his comments, he made a point of directing attention to the fact that films from streamers Netflix, Apple and Amazon don't run in AMC theaters because they won't agree to the studio window. "If we can convince the streamers that it is in their interest to show their movies theatrically, that might be another way of getting more movies into our theaters."

TBD on an actual plan to convince them to show movies in theaters. Also TBD on if people are really willing to pay money on some Netflix films.

Imagine thinking anyone in their right mind will pay movie theater prices to see the latest Netflix garbage in a theater.

Netflix is struggling! People are dropping their subscriptions! The solution must be to charge more and force people to go to theaters! Brilliant!

I've seen every theater company CEO in the past month say they are convinced they will get streaming movies in theaters with theatrical windows, and it'll increase theater business.

And yet none of them go into more detail on the how for any part of it.

Imagine if their actual company strategy was home popcorn delivery and investing in gold mines.

Home delivery and retails sales of AMC popcorn and snacks will start by year end and an AMC-branded credit card should be on offer "within a year of today." Investors can expect the company to add more movie theaters and to ink more unlikely deals like the investment in Hycroft Mining — which Goodman said resulted in $63-million win as of Friday on gains in the share price of the Nevada gold mine.
