Square Enix announced yesterday that the cancellation of some content at Luminous Productions resulted in $33m loss.

Having conducted an in-depth review of the business strategy for Luminous Productions Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary (the "Subsidiary"), the Company had decided to focus the Subsidiary's development efforts on large-scale, high-quality AAA game titles, which best leverages the Subsidiary's strengths.

This is such a shock, and I'm so sad that Tabata has left and the DLCs aside from Ardyn have been cancelled.

wow, I thought it was a celebration of the game.
This sounds anything but that.

I have publicly said, multiple times, that FFXV is definitely not my favorite in the series, by a very long shot, but still, I know it's sad news for the fans who were already expecting the DLC.

@OP: May want to include that the Ardyn episode is still releasing in March 2019.

This is probably the CAUSE of the losses you heard about

Clearly, Tabata was working on a project and the 33 mil was what the project cost and now he's gone it's scrapped (at least that's my theory)

Update the title about the Ardyn episode, this one is not cancelled.

This is really sad news, it seens they will just focus on their AAA project.

I hope Tabata finds gainful employ elsewhere.

Also I knew actually getting to ever play as Aranea was too much to ask for. Guess I'll never touch FFXV now.
