In survival you get diseased even sleeping or a molerat blinking their eye at you from 30m away.

Survival after five hours though just kind of becomes busywork as you get ahead of the curve pretty fast.

I tried Survival pretty soon after it first came out. I decided about when I met up with Danse that I wasn't having fun and switched it back to Hard

Are load times supposed to be this long on the "next-gen" version on PC? Loading the commonwealth is ridiculous on a nvme...

Has anyone figured out how to get the Achievements Enabler to work on Steam Deck? I've gotten it installed but it still doesn't work upon loading the game.

Installed manually, I put everything in the required folders. Using F4SE new version. Still nada.

According to Mystic (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPRvRlnllSg at 1:26) the issue with PS Plus is fixed and you can now upgrade to the PS5 version if you redeemed the game from the PS Plus Collection. Is that news? I thought Bethesda said they would not do it?

They never said they wouldn't do it. It was IGN editorialising for clicks.

I can't remember when it was fixed but it was on Monday or Tuesday I think.

Hope they fix the XSX version soon...so many major issues compared to the PS5 version:

* Performance mode only
* Bugged VATS
* Hitching every few minutes (Im guessing this wont happen in quality mode once it's fixed)

Put a considerable amount of time in both versions and the PS5 on quality mode is great.

I'm level 16 on survival mode and I decided to do the Kellogg quest and man, I died so many times he could just one shot me. Finally had to go get the fat man in the fort and shoot him from the hall. Shit didn't even kill him I had to finish him off with my laser musket.

Started a playthrough a few weeks back, haven't been on it since the update. Loaded it up last night and this morning and seems my mods are chugging along with no issues so far.

Been scouring that all day, and it seems none of the fixes work for me.
I got achievement enabler to work with their dll loader, don't know how one does it with F4SE on the Deck. Download the main zip, download the dll loader one, drop both on the game folder and then at startup options
Code:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm=n,b" %command%
I'm only using the unofficial patch so at the time I have no need to mess around with F4SE.

Haven't had a chance to test overall performance, but I found a couple mods for Series X that boost the settings to ultra, and the difference is pretty massive. I did run around a few densely packed areas in downtown Boston and got in a few big firefights and performance held up great. Mods are Tweaked performance mode and next-gen ultra settings v2.

I'm using Moribund World as well which is why the color palette is different.

This is what I am waiting for. But I am not confident they will fix it based on their comment that it is not broken. But that was said before all these video's showing it is broken.

yeah so this also doesn't work because I have a patcher that puts Mod Organizer into the Play Button for Fallout 4 - meaning launch options just don't take. It's weird because before patch, it worked just fine.

Ugh, I need help… my save loads up just as I'm about to be swarmed by some bloatflies.
I just can't take them out before they kill me, I don't know why I'm so ridiculously weak but they take 2-3 shots each but I die from a couple of hits from the flies. Tried lowering the difficulty to easy but it doesn't seem to make a difference, like it's not registering?
I don't know what to do - I've died like ten times now and I'm sick of it.
You guys playing on survival are insane.

You don't have any earlier autosaves perchance? If not, you could always try running away and kiting them towards friendly NPC's. You could also enable god mod through the console or a mod. That disables achievements though, if you care about that sort of thing.

Some early game enemies can pack quite a punch, it took me a while to get over the hump again too. Now I'm entrenched in a Gunner-infested Vault severely underleveled, with several Assaultrons coming after my ass, lmao.

Yeah once I saw all that mess to get MO2 working on the Deck I said screw it, just going to play with mods from Bethesda.net. Going to leave all that work for another time lol

They seem fine. I tried them both along with vivid fallout and although you get slight stutters it was quite bad in the Boston area. Game runs fine just as Next-Gen & Tweaked performance mods or if you want to stick with Vivid Fallout then leave the other two out. I even tried Vivid Fallout with just Tweaked performance but again it was bad in the boston area. Now to decide which mod set up to stick with

EDIT
Also I don't know if it's different on Survival, but I'm pretty sure settlers are immortal unless you go out of your way to kill them yourself.

I went and tested this out. Yeah you right. I was lead to believe they could from watching years old youtube vids.

I'm really blown away by Sim Settlements 2. The new city management mechanics (which I don't really pay attention to, tbh) and main story quests are not only the highlights, but the side contents are also very well done. Besides some series of side quests from new, unique characters scattered in the Commonwealth, they also added 2 new factions with their own storylines. I particularly like the Nightingales, as their presence and how they operate do make sense in the wasteland. They also have some cool characters.

I'm using:
Vivid Fallout - All in One
Moribund World (which is what gives the game that brown dead look)
Better Leaf Piles
Tweaked Performance Mode (which boosts distant objects like trees to ultra)
Next-Gen Ultra Settings v2 (which boosts shadows, lighting, grass, to ultra or max)

Boston performance seems to be variable for some people. I still haven't been able to test that whole area, but what I did play seemed to run totally fine. I did get some slowdown when I arrived at Cambridge police to fight all those ghouls, but it wasn't anything game breaking.

Thanks for the list, hadn't seen the performance mode and ultra settings. Going to give these a shot until Bethesda fixes this nonsense on Xbox.

List of mods for ps5? Thanks!

Playing Wasteland Redux myself.

Does a whole lot of balance adjustments which ends up turning it into something more akin to Stalker. Healing items seem very rare and the world feels much more threatening.

Also Better Graphics & Weather which does exactly what it says plus makes nights and dark areas darker, which then goes well with one of the Pipboy flashlight mods (can't remember which) that turn the Pipboy into a normal beam flashlight.

I want to check out some mods on Series X. Mainly just some of the graphics related stuff. Will those still disable achievements?

Also, looking for suggestions on which ones to check out.

Thanks

Edit: I overlooked the post above that has suggestions. So really, just curious about achievements being disabled if used.

I was gonna go through again without mods because I didn't want to wait for F4SE to get fixed but thank god it's up and the Fast Physics mod has been updated. Leaving buildings into the Commonwealth is HORRIBLY slow without it, don't remember it being quite this bad.

Also, had to uninstall the official free High Res texture packs because of a huge number of visual bugs it was causing.

All of this on top of still no options for enabling/disabling VSync and changing FOV even after the new patch. What a mess. Far Harbor had better be some of the best Fallout content ever made when I get there because this feels distinctly not worth it.

This kind of shit is silly. I wish difficulty modes like this made things equally lethal for players and enemies, rather than one-sided.

Playing on Hard for the first time back to this game in years and seriously struggling. Made it to Diamond City after a couple of hours but I feel like basically anything still flattens me.

I know the first few hours are always the toughest but I'm really not finding much in the way of good loot or gear to help me survive that well. I'm sure it'll ease off soon though.

Yeah, settlers have a status called "protected" in the engine. It has existed since Skyrim. Enemies won't be able to permanently kill them, the player however can. It is a middle step between anyone can die for any reason, and essential, this person cannot die for any reason. A common way for protected characters to die is if they are in a fight and go down from enemy damage, and the player accidentally does damage to them which kills them.

Booo. I got the 'check your fire' bug when trying to talk to Danse for the fire support mission.

Also loaded up the PS5 version for visual comparisons and the mod situation is pretty dire compared to Xbox so I'll probably continue playing on Xbox, bugs and all.

Some of the Endurance perks work great really early on. Toughness 1 is excellent because literally anyone can take it and it adds a permanent +10 DR. The way DR works in Fallout 4 is you'll only take half damage from an attack whose power matches your DR. For example if you have 20 DR and get hit with an attack that would normally cause 20 damage, you'll take only 10 instead. Even if you take an attack that's double your DR, you'll still get a -36% damage reduction, which is still quite a lot. (Many, many more examples here.) It definitely helps a lot to have a permanent DR baseline, especially in the early game when you're still getting a good set of layered armor together.

The new Tesla Cannon seems overpowered. It hits like a truck and only uses 1 flamer ammo which you can easily get hundreds of.

The Wasteland Redux mod on PS5 is perfect... except for one thing that utterly ruins it.

Healing drop rates.

I've literally found 2 stimpacks for the 10 hours I've been playing, nowhere sells them, and now I can't even do Corvega because I have zero healing, 1 hp, and a crippled head blurring my vision. I spent all my caps buying 9 bandages before heading in here, and all 9 doesn't even fill my hp bar 70%. I can't play vanilla as its too easy now, but this is just way overtuned.

There isn't really any other overhaul balance mods on PS to use instead outside of the one that only removes level scaling, and besides I like literally all the other changes except this shit.

Anyone else using this mod have any tips?
