That's an ugly piece of hardware that somehow the covers make it look worse.

Also, ugh at glossy plastic. And people telling me it as because of the protective film...

The existence of the Jaguar means this will never be the worst looking console ever, but damn if it isn't trying. Those external panels appear to be the reason for it.
