Years ago, there was a point where many people doubted the integrity of video games journalists. There was that idea that anglo-saxon journalism, due to it's more "pragmatic" nature, was more likely to be influenced by deals with publishers, because business is business . Nowadays, has trust towards those sites been restored. Do you trust Gamespot, Ign, Kotaku when they review video games with a high budget or are you suspicious?

I mean, "trust" with an outlet, especially with media, should only be given if you have a pretty good understanding of the mindset of the person writing it. I wouldn't "trust" a review of a fighting game written by someone who has loudly and commonly extolled a hatred for fighting games. They should be a suggestion at best.

That being said, there's no real reason these days to question media coverage. Long are the days of publishers inviting reviewers to Hawaii for jetski rides and 5 course meals before they get to play a game for the first time. Furthermore, these publications have far more to lose if they're caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

Yeah Famitsu is always correct.

Like, Famitsu is a great example, becaue they're never going to shake the stigma of giving out good reviews as long as you pay them. It may not even be true anymore, they could have had a full staff change over, they'll never shake that stigma.
