Can we stop referencing 4chan and also stop posting "leaks and rumors" from that site?

I've been thinking with the whole ordeal with the THQ Nordic boycott and people condemning 8chan for what's hosted there, and honestly, 4chan hosts pornographic content that it's simply put, as bad as everything that comes with hardcore pornography, there are levels to what we consider sick and bad, but 4chan is just as bad and even though a few leaks here and there have become true, we have to completely disassociate ourselves from that place, even banning from mentioning the word 4chan or linking to it. We're exposing more and more people to that place and that's just a no-no.
Hell, people here abstain themselves from mentioning the name of "the old forum", let's just go ahead and do the same with 4chan, whatever little info may or may not come from there isn't of big importance anyways.


Edit: As others have helped me point out (because i'm not a native english speaker and lack narrative), not only is 4chan bad as a porn site, but a place filled with blatant sexism, toxicity, hatred towards all kinds of minority groups, the worst of human kind behaviour in a forum.The point is to avoid referencing that place since it is one of the worst places to associate ourselves to because of its content and dubious sources of information

I do think it's odd how open members of this forum seem to be to 4chan when it comes to game leaks, but I don't think threads about the leaks necessarily cause people to visit that site.

Text leaks should be banned because its a needle in a haystack situation.

Leaks with receipts, like project beast or ESRB leak? Those are worth talking about.

Many 4chan leaks turn out legit because it's a way to anonymously dump info.

Not talking about them once they start showing some truth is dumb.

I'm no fan of 4chan, but might as well ban Twitter posts because of all the terrible language and blatant sexism/racism on there, too? Same with anything hosted on Imgur?

Indeed. That is a much, much better argument.

My understanding is that there are different spaces there and some are less horrific than others. That being said, I still would never have anything to do with the site. I think referencing leaks from 4chan should be allowed, but I see why some people find it to be so reprehensible that they want nothing to do with it.
