At GDC 2019, Epic Games showcased an amazing Unreal Engine 4 ray tracing tech demo, called "Troll". According to the team, this demo was running on a single NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080Ti and showcased what developers can currently achieve with real-time ray tracing.

is that the fidelity we can expect for real-time in-game rendering on next gen consoles?

It is a demo and the GPU is a 2080 Ti using RT core. This is not the what you can expext from next gen console...

You think a next gen console will have the same visual as the top highest end graphic card? 🤔

No. Regardless of how it looks, actually. No, because this is a cinematic, and you can have this cinematic on current gen consoles if you really wanted to. Render and capture on PC in "realtime", re-implement as cinematic on PC.

In-game gameplay is an entirely different beast, it won't be like this for highest end PCs, let alone the new consoles. :)
