Grubb saying the following

* Contraband is far off, and does not expect it at the Xbox showcase

* Sounds like he's expecting most of Xbox lineup to launch 2024/5, not 23 as rumored/reported?

* Avalanche has missed several milestones the past 7 (?) months

* Xbox 2022 showcase will be the best Xbox event for Gameplay ever, more focus on Gameplay trailers and demos

Most of that is clearly speculation from his part if you heard he talking. The only part where it seemed he was talking from what he heard with sources were the milestones thing from Avalanche (not the past 7 months, but from before that) and the ton of gameplay thing at e3.

I'd personally rather not even see things that aren't going to launch until 2025. Just show me the stuff that's gonna launch this year and next year, tops.

Sounding good, I wouldnt hate seeing 2024 titles if there's actual tangible gameplay there

But I would also like to see what 2023 brings, because that's a bleak statement, already excited for bethesdas lineup for 2023

I'm always down for majority gameplay during showcases, but 2024/2025? That's... far away.

Which games is he talking about I wonder? Hellblade seemed pretty likely for 2023 to me, and Avowed too (though only because of the leaks, not anything official)

Having really low output 2 years in a row is not good if Sony delivers (and they are aiming to deliver).
"Most" games is a weird statement because technically most games for Xbox is like 16+ games.

We already know they have 2 games for 2023, one is a pretty big deal. They will most likely have a lot more for 2023.

He said Avowed gameplay should be shown, Joule didn't mention that tho.

Gameplay for stuff that is 2024/25? That seems unlikely.

But I'll always prefer gameplay, so curious either way.

Focus on gameplay sounds nice and I can't wait to see Forza Motorsport, Starfield and many other games. 10 days!!!

Gameplay and 2024 do not belong in the same sentence. If anything is that far off you're not getting gameplay.

Okay cool, no worries from me then. I'll wait for an actual transcript and see what he's saying

Gameplay sounds good.

I think people are always a bit too optimistic with release dates. Whenever I see fans chart out release dates especially after Starfield and Redfall delays it's like 10 games in 2023 and a bunch of the "project" games that we've heard exits in 2024-5. That would leave 2026-7 barren and chances are a big publisher is never going to release 8-10 games in a single year.

Gameplay would be a fucking win at Xbox. No CG logos/trailers and it might be a decent show.

He's saying that because Xbox has like 30 projects, so if you have like 6 games in 2023, the other projects are indeed not for this year.

I haven't listened to it yet, but I will later. Can anyone clarify this, though? How can you have tons of gameplay at the show (the most ever?) but the games still being 2-3 years away? I'm guessing he meant that most of the gameplay is NOT the same games coming out in 2024-25?

Aiming for 2024+ for releases is kinda of death sentence.
Who said Xbox is aiming for 2024? Grubb talked about "most games". Xbox has like 50 projects in development. So even if most games release 2024 or later, they can have a lot of titles for 2023. 2022 is a slim year, but the last two years weren't that bad.

When he talk about 2024/2025 line up which games he talk about ? I think he talk about Fable, Indiana jones, State of decay 3, Perfect Dark, IO interactive project etc... which is excepted...

But games like Avowed & Contraband imo is 2023 with Starfield & Redfall. Hellblade 2 is 50/50.

Feels like I've been waiting for years for Xbox first party games to come out lol.

Grubb said that a lot of their games entered in dev in 2018, one year before COVID, and for sure you are not building AAA games in 3-4 years in a situation like this.

And all the studios they acquired were working on multiplatform games for quite some time, hell InXile released a game in 2020 and Double Fine last year.

It's a lot of time but you gotta wait.

Gameplay for games slated for 2024 is kinda eh but gameplay nonetheless. How much of a change will happen between now and release will also be fun to see.

Anyways it's always fun to see what everyone is working on.

How many games do folks think MS needs to release yearly? We already know 2 big ones for next year. I'm sure there will be 2 or 3 more for next year. That's 5 games out of 25 or so in development. Of course the others are coming later.
