I remember the second game's gore, it was just brutal. Probably the most complex gore system I saw in a game, maybe rivaled by Dead Island's

If we're talking complex gore systems, Killing Floor 2 took direct inspiration from the Soldier of Fortune series for its own dynamic gore and giblets. It's pretty gnarly.
