I was going to let it go, but I don't hold grudges, and at the end of the day, this is a game. We're supposed to be having fun. So fuck it! I'll take one more shot at trying to break down our disagreement.

Essentially, Chuggernaut was saying the votes on both Vere and Turmoil were not from scum, and he stated it like it was a certainty. I don't like absolutes. So I responded:

My main goal was very simple, and very small. I just wanted to wipe away the certainty (before anyone latched onto it) that scum weren't involved with Vere or Turmoil votes. My last game went south because we all made some assumptions and never re-considered them as a group. We went day after day lunching town because we never stepped back and re-evaluated the bigger picture, and scum ended up winning. It haunts me. OKay, exaggerating when I say it haunts me. But I don't want a repeat.

When you asked me who I thought was scum in the votes, I assumed you were asking me because you thought I was stating there was definitely scum in there and I had an idea who it might be. I was not, and I had no reads. I didn't consider who could be scum in there because it wasn't my intended goal. It was to only cast doubt on the idea that neither votes were a scum response as Chugger posted.

For me it's simple. I have no strong scum reads, only a few people i'm iffy on. You're one of them, the other is a claimed lover that no one will touch (sparky), the other could be a vig that i don't want to lunch today(kopite), and a couple other are players that i value a lot if town and i also don't believe would be lunched today anyway(faddy and brazil). I'm also reading Sorian pretty town* and some of the people on other trains not so much. It's really a case of the least bad option. Sorry it's not a better reason but it is what it is.

*cue spec chat laugh track.

I'm going to go with my gut, which keeps jumping back-and-forth on Kopite. Started as scum read, then back to neutral, then the shot on Kalor seemed way too obvious for it to be Kopite. But....again...that shot happened in the heat of Brazil/Kopite back-and-forth. Edge is reacting to votes like a townie would. Proper town play would be to vote Edge because I'm 100% certain I'm town, and self-preservation of town isn't bad. But I don't want to survive only to be a distraction the next day. So, let's go back to basics and my initial gut read:

Just don't let it end in a tie. Town never benefits from not taking someone to lunch. Just make sure you all take me somewhere nice if you do.

I'm not getting into it again because I'm know a stubborn bastard but my main issue is that you had nothing to say when there were are least like 6 people to talk about (I don't remember exactly how many and can't currently check). Not a thing. No reads on all those people on the turmoil vote? And that you were surprised when someone tried to get you to follow up that statement with an opinion also flummoxes me.

I had a good read of VA halfway through the day. Couldn't reassess, but the discussion with GoG didn't change that much.
Also, as much as I'm not sure of anything any more, there's more people I read town voting on Edge that on VA.
