I feel like news of this could strike at any second. Epic is making big moves to try and carve its space out in the PC storefront market and an obvious strategy is taking established and anticipated titles and making deals with its publishers for exclusivity. It has already ruffled the feathers for more than a few franchise fans with Metro and I doubt this will be the last example we will have before too long.

If an upcoming game you highly anticipate became an Epic exclusive What game is it and how would you feel if it happened?

Poll cuz why not?

Yep, I cancelled my Metro preorder already. I hope that sweet, sweet Fortnite money was worth selling out their fans for.

No, don't care where it's from.
I can "add" it through Steam or make a shortcut for easy access.

No.

Not the same thing but RAGE 2 is exclusive to the Beth Launcher and I'm still getting that day one. Same shit will happen with DOOM Eternal and Wolfenstein: Youngblood.

My most anticipated PC game is Bannerlord. If that shit were to release on EGS or even the fucking Windows Store, I'd be there day one. I'm not going to skip out on a great game just because I can't get my trading cards.

I'll go wherever the games are.

I would be disappointed but if I already knew I wanted it, it wouldn't stop me.

I would actually be more pissed off if a game got removed from other clients, and then find out later it was a timed exclusive, cause I'd rather wait in that case.

I'd be fairly peeved. I'm hoping the exclusives at least stay timed and I can just wait it out.

Nah fam you can't. The Epic launcher is currently making it very hard to do that.
And yes, if e.g. Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord ever releases and then only on EGS exclusively I would probably try to find a way to pay the devs somehow else the money and download it from somehwere on the internet because again: Epic doesn't want me as a Linux user as a customer.

I wouldn't be angry but I'd be annoyed. I really dislike the client because its slow and busted in a way that's unacceptable in 2019. Whenever there's a Fortnite update, it needs to redownload the full game and it causes my PC to randomly freeze and lock up. It was fucked up on my old PC and its somehow worse on my new PC and it causes Chrome and other programs to become unresponsive whenever its doing anything in the background.

Like the biggest comparison for me would be something from Capcom. Who are my favorite Developer/Publisher by far.

But I think even I'd skip on DMC5 on PC of all of a sudden they went "DMC5 is now epic store exclusive" for a year.

I don't have anything against epic store. But currently the platform isn't offering me what i'd like personally. So I'd rather buy on one of my consoles and return to the game later on PC at a cheaper price or when it's on another launcher.

Yep. Exclusives are a big no on PC Gaming. One of its biggest advantages is deciding where you want to buy the game.

And this isn't like console gaming and its exclusives. At least there, even if a game is exclusive to one console, you can still choose from different stores. Epic takes that choice away.

Yes.
I'd rather buy from Origin, uPlay or GoG instead of EGS.

I just deleted my Epic account and don't plan on making it again. The amount of emails I get notifying me that someone is trying to log into my account put me off.

I have no problems with other launchers such as Uplay, Origin or GOG Galaxy. If a third party title I'm really looking forward to goes to the Epic Store I'm just going to skip it.

Not angry as such, but I would not buy the game. I always have too many games to play, so skipping a few isn't the end of the world.

So far I'm skipping two games I would otherwise have bought. Rage 2 on the Bughtesda launcher and Metro: Exodus on the Tencent store.

It already happened to me with the final season of The Walking Dead. I've purchased PC games everywhere (even the Windows Store!!!) so that in itself hasn't stopped me from purchasing it yet, I just usually don't buy episodic games until they are completed. I'm hoping I'll hold out long enough that it comes back to Steam eventually but if not, I'll probably have to buy it on Epic.

I am concerned about save game compatibility and also that EGS has absolutely no offline mode at this point, but I have to see what happens to Clem :(

Yes, and it already happend with Metro.

Luckly DMC5 won't meet this terrible fate since Cpacom isn't dumb.

Yes. If you had asked me last week, I wouldn't have been so adamant about not purchasing from their store.

Now, the two week thing and the recent "fuck you poorer countries" attitude has turned me against them completely.

Luckily, I've swore off game buying this year, so hopefully the dust settles.
