Literally the last line makes this speculation moot. Seems to me that Monster just made a guess at the highest it would be and put it in the average.

I mean, obviously we know they're considering that price point. The $599 figure is an estimated MSRP - and likely what Microsoft told partners. The question is if they stick with it, after Sony announces theirs. Or if they announce before Sony.
I don't think this is anything other than Monster guessing. The very next sentence says the price has not been announced and that there may be a difference.

I think the text at the bottom is basically saying they'll reward 200 consoles up to the value of $599 each. I don't think they know what the price actually is, just covering their bases in case it's more expensive.

Even if you assumed the total value of the 1st place prize pool was 100% accurate (something they specifically state may NOT be the case in that fine print), that wouldn't take into account whatever a retail copy of Halo was being valued at.

also, considering the last line here why isn't the speculation that the console will be less than $599?
So each prize is 600 dollars. And each winner gets an XSX and a copy of Halo. Presumably, Halo will cost $60. So the XSX must be 539.99. Interesting price here.

I still don't think this is a hint at the final price. If you factor in the price of Halo Infinit, the Series X would be at 540$. Which would be a very odd price. I think it's a placeholder and they just don't know.
