ABC 7 News reported that Fulton County, GA had a "reporting error" that caused Joe Biden's GA lead to go from 4,000 to 7,000 votes.

The article that tweet is linking to doesn't mention an error at all.

EDIT: At least it's very unclear on how the count functioned.

Is this saying that they missed 3000 votes or they accidentally gave him 3000 extra votes?

So... it's entirely unclear which way the error went. Was it supposed to be 4K and they reported 7K? Or was it supposed to be 7K and they reported 4K, and now they've fixed it?

If that error did happen, Biden almost definitely still wins Georgia, and 100% definitely still wins the presidency. It would just be an unfortunate error

I think it's saying it was supposed to be 7K but was reported as only 4K and later found and corrected to 7K.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution puts Biden's lead at 9,000 about an hour later than that tweet. I feel like they'd have the most up to date numbers since they're on the ground.

Biden expands his narrow lead in Georgia
Joe Biden continues to expand his narrow lead over President Trump in Georgia.

After DeKalb County released additional results this evening, Biden extended his lead to 9,160 votes out of 4.98 million ballots counted so far.

The article says the latter. That batch that took him to 4k to 7k was allegedly at least partially in mistake

Edit: Actually it is probably the other way around, I think I misunderstood the phrasing

I've requested a mod to review the tweet and correct the thread title as what is being reported has confused me.

The original mistake withheld ~3,000 votes which should've initially been awarded to Biden. They've now corrected that.

Either way he is likely going to get like 12-14k. Taking 3k out makes no difference.

edit-misleading title.

My heart dropped at the thread title.

Glad that the error was that Biden got short changed, not the other way.

Donald Trump: "SEE!!! TOLD YOU ALL THEY STOLE OUR ELECTION AND ITS RIGGED!!!"
Person: "Sir...the error put him at less votes than he should of had..."
Donald Trump: "...You're fired!"
Person: "Just like you are starting January 20th, 2021"

The updated vote from Fulton Friday night took Biden from an approx. 4,000 vote lead to approx. 7,000 vote lead. Roughly 5,000 votes were uploaded from the county.

- AFTER they updated the vote count (aka AFTER THEY FIXED THE REPORTING ERROR), Biden gained 3,000 votes.

This seems inaccurate as Biden's overall lead seems to be 9k now and was 7k previously?

OK, so the title was updated, but on multiple reads of the article, it's very unclear whether it's saying Biden's lead increased or decreased, as well as what the issue was. With such unclear information, we're going to lock this thread

That being said, feel free to make a new thread if a more clear source presents itself.
