Big words. Not sure raytracing at a stable framerate would qualify as the biggest breakthrough in 20 years. Is there more than just the cards being announced?
Quake 3 Bezier curves are coming back. And NURBS.
Or maybe voxels ala Outcast (1999).
My actual bet though: Micro-polygon technology somewhat similar to Unreal 5.

My apologies, JaseC! I did not know this was claimed already, so I will have a mod lock this thread.
I am ready. With both console makers now releasing their exclusives on PC, i think its time for me to switch to PC gaming permanently.
If their x080 GPU is $700, im in. But i cannot justify a $200 price increase on their 80 series. If thats the case, i will just stick to consoles for now and upgrade at the end of the gen like i always do.

Crazy how much the price has crept up from the 10 series cards.
Leakers claim that the 3060 is $400, 3070 is $600, 3080 is $800 and the 3090 is $1400.
Hopefully the prices will be officially confirmed today.

Yeah they just keep increasing in price....I was going to upgrade this year but not so sure anymore.
At the time of the leak pilot production wasn't even going. The leaker just made up numbers. Should they be correct, it would be coincidence.
Might go for a 3060 and a monitor upgrade for my "next gen" console, at least initially. Probably going to wait until tax return season though.
