For the sake of argument, assume you can only pick one of those, nothing in-between.

Curious to see what people prefer. I honestly do not care for native 4K that much but I like graphical bells and whistles. On the other hand 60 FPS in action games is really important. I usually lean into 60 FPS.

Fidelity for me! I can't ever tell 60 FPS during gameplay so I'll stick with making things prettier :)

For me if it's a last gen game playing on current gen, it's visual fidelity. If it's current gen, and it has the options, I'll favor performance.

Depends on the game.
Demon's Souls looked pretty much identical between the two modes, so it was pretty easy to choose the 60fps.
Miles Morales, on the other hand (since I played it at launch before RT Perf update) I went with all the bells and whistles. I used the 60fps mode for the endgame to get the trophies.

Performance if it means going from 30FPS to 60FPS at 1080p or higher.

I'll occasionally turn on fidelity mode to see the nice graphics for a few minutes (Spider-Man and Miles Morales).

It needs to be a good compromise.

I want 60 but I want my game to look good and retain some next gen features.

Performance matters for me ultimately. Hell, playing older games with higher FPS helps make them feel less outdated/more fresh (to a point) for me as well.

Ideally I want both, but gun to my head I go performance.

I am waiting for an "extra fidelity" option, more ray tracing 8k at 10 fps.
Screw gameplay, it's all about that immersion those shiny ponds and reflections achieve.

Fidelity always. Its very rare that i prefer games in 60fps+ even on PC I lock to 30 and crank everything up

Performance 60fps everytime. Don't care for the extra resolution or pretty bells and whistles.

It depends on the game. Especially if it is turn-based or does not have very frenetic action, sometimes I prefer 30FPS and better graphics.

On consoles: (1800p/60) > 1440p/60 > 4K/30 > 1080p/60

I basically try to get 60fps as much as possible without going to fucking 1080p.

"But but 1080p is perfectly fine!"

Not on a 4K tv it fucking isn't, stfu.
