It must be pants shittingly frightening to go up against one of the world's richest companies when it decides to go 'all in'.Said this in another thread, but this move says volumes about the conversations MS must be having at the absolute highest levels about their future in gaming. Seems the conclusion was, let's go all in.
As has been said before they are taking a different approach to Sony this next gen, but in reality their approach and vision must be going way beyond even this "gen". Crazy and interesting to think about what those conversations are like, but clearly Satya is bought in as well.
Weird messaging. Bethesda was already publishing everywhere, so how is this "empowering" for people "wherever they play"?
Xbox Division is definitely going to be a now Game Software and Services and platform agnostic. you dont spend 7.5 billion otherwise.

It's true that Microsoft is going platform agnostic in everything else, so it wouldn't be crazy. Although maybe they're fine with being in everything but a Sony console.Xbox Division is definitely going to be a now Game Software and Services and platform agnostic. you dont spend 7.5 billion otherwise.

Yep, it's in Microsoft best interest to serve any platform where their services reach in.Xbox Division is definitely going to be a now Game Software and Services and platform agnostic. you dont spend 7.5 billion otherwise.

Perhaps Xbox will be around a while longer yetSo it's safe to say that Microsoft is not looking to spin Xbox off?

why would they ignore a large base there as well. ive been seeing MS change their stances with Office on Mac, Android, them unifying development in other spaces this is exactly no different to what they are doing in other divisions and its one of the best profitable plays for them to transform into that, They will still sell consoles but hardware will not dictate their software strategy anymore. Wait until MS releases their Q1 stuff and they talk about this acquisition it will be very clear then. It's true that Microsoft is going platform agnostic in everything else, so it wouldn't be crazy. Because they are now alligned with MS' goals. You'll see Bethesda games day 1 on game pass and built for xCloud on mobile devicesWeird messaging. Bethesda was already publishing everywhere, so how is this "empowering" for people "wherever they play"?
