Silence is incredibly powerful

It can keep you out of trouble. It can be a political statement. It can be comforting or disturbing. It's something I've thought a lot about recently. At work people will say that I'm "quiet" but really all I'm doing is refraining from involving myself in office politics and just observing and minding my own business.

I apply it here with threads I disagree with or on subjects that I don't know much about. I just choose silence and refrain from involving myself. I think people could learn a lot from being silent.

Silence can also lead to a lot of equally bad things. If you don't speak up or stand by those who are being unrightfully hurt, then no change can happen.
