The value proposition of a PC has never been higher than it is on this day. You have your AA-AAA multiplats, chill indie games that sometimes don't get console releases, Xbox games, and now apparently PlayStation games. Frankly since I already have a PC, I'm not sure if I need some of these other consoles. Doesn't even have to a beastly rig either; a midrange machine will set you right for years. You also have things like not having to pay for multiplayer, insane deals and discounts, VR capabilities, etc.
Then there's Nintendo, who you pretty much can't avoid buying hardware for if you want to play their games. With that being said, Nintendo games are great, so buying into their ecosystem every generation is a no brainer.
The choice has never been more clear imo
