Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1+2 was 39.99€, they even advertising it right now on the front page:

but when you go to the actual store page it says this:

is this how it works now in the Epic store?
Do they casually raise the price while a game is hot?

I'm sure Epic decided to raise the price with no input at all from the publisher, who happens to also be raising prices for their other games going forward

I thought the game publishers would pass the savings from the 12% cut onto us!

US version is still $39.99.

They probably just translated the US description and forgot to adjust the price for local currency.

I would never buy anything on EGS, but I just checked and the standard edition is roughly 38,4€ (converted from local currency). Both on the front page and on the checkout page.

Maybe they're doing some shenanigans in other regions.

It's not the store or Epic, it's the Publisher. This happens quite a bit. Horizon Zero Dawn went up $10US in my region.

Also the game doesn't seem to have regional pricing here, so I guess I'm seeing the US price which is:

So it's probably an error or something.

Pretty sure its the publisher, but i remember someone posted a picture with the new Hitman 3 game, that was like 10$ more expensive on epic store than on ps4, i guess the 12% doesnt matter at all

Epic does not set the prices for third party games on EGS.

All that talk of benefiting devs when all the profits of 12% goes to the publishers and not an ounce goes to actual devs.

It's weird how conspiratorial everything has become lately. Games, government, daily life...

Most of the time it's not a conspiracy. Seems likely it was just an error that was corrected, with input from other sources.

Ask Activision. Epic aren't the one controlling third party prices.

Publishers set the prices of their products on storefronts. This is not an Epic Store specific thing.
