Turns out the fancy bottle is just a plastic case. Open it up and you get...

People buying $80 bottom shelf rum in a shitty bottle for a marketing gimmick. Looks like exactly what they got.

apparently the in game bottle model is just a plastic shell for the glass bottle

seems a bit of a stretch to get mad at this

80 dollars for what seems like non aged rum? Yikes, I imagine the markup was for the bottle, but now, I don't get why it costs so much.

Whats the problem? Its not like people are buying it for the unique Fallout bottle, they obviously wanted the delicious $80 rum.

The original post shows theres a case or shell for the bottle. I'd like to see more photos of that so its less deceiving.

It's hilarious since the stencil-ed in font generally kind of implies "We put no effort into printing or graphic design, and don't care if you notice".

Nowhere on the sale page does it say the fancy Nuka style bottle is just a case. Also would it really be that hard to shell out for a fancy bottle for people paying $80?

Makes things marginally better than how the OP looks.

However, for that price, they really should have been doing glass molds though.

It's probably bargain basement rum that's in it too.

You buy stuff like this for the novelty which is all in the design of the bottle. I think most of them don't really care what's in it.

You get better and more intricate designed bottles in $20 gift baskets at liquor stores, with better liquor in it. Even if the shell was the real bottle, all it is is 3 fins at the bottom. This isn't a collectors item, this is junk.

So they charged people eighty dollars for a non-functional plastic shell shaped like a bottle with a different bottle of cheap rum inside?

Amazing.

Eh...seems like a licensed product by a company not directly affiliated with bethesda. Also the screengrab is deceiving .

It's upsetting people don't read or take everything at face value. Misleading screenshots from a video, sensationalist title, lack of a basic knowledge of licensing and production, etc.

You don't have to be a Bethesda apologist (and you shouldn't be) but this isn't even grasping for straws. This is just spreading misinformation.

$60 for a busted ass, unfinished mess of a game.
$200 for the Power Armor Edition without the promised canvas bag.
$80 for a bottle of rum with the only uniqueness to the look being a plastic cover.

Amazing.

New Yawk City!
The actual label isn't even objectively universally BAD, it's just blatantly not what's advertised or even close. It's ridiculous. Just don't do it then, or like, give a freebie. This stuff blows up so fast these days.

If it's officially licensed by Bethesda they should totally be taken to task for it. It doesn't matter if they didn't actually make it. It's a shitty product associated with a shitty game and it's hurting their brand image all the same. Sorry they don't get a pass based on a technicality. That's not the way this works.
