the point of the original message is that the "contemporary american left" has focused so heavily on the idea that the key to progress is to say the right words and use the right framings to drive social progress, and the fucking cia being able to do that is proof that it's a functionally toothless and useless strategy that can be co-opted by anyone for any reason without generating any tangible gains

Why do people keep reposting his stupid shit here? I get if it's policy related, but viewing, responding to, or retweeting anything he says is entirely counterproductive and unhealthy. It's like Trump is gone, so people need a new "can you believe he said that" guy to score easy twitter points on. Giving him the attention he wants does nothing to get rid of him.

I have a problem with the CIA ad too, but from another angle. The idea of "woke imperialism", fucking despicable, irredeemable hellworld buffoonery. We really should have a thread to discuss the ad itself rather than Cruz's reactionary take on it. Because it's a perfect example of how empty identity politics can be twisted to entrap those who don't consider what is actually at stake.
