Meh, he tried the same shit in 2016. It worked. Got a lot of the weirder Bernie voters to lose their damn mind on social media. Hell, some of them even voted for trump.

Just gonna link to a story so people stop asking for proof. Just google Bernie supporters voted for trump. It was at least over 10 percent.

www.vox.com

The Bernie voters who defected to Trump, explained by a political scientist

A new study found that about 12 percent of Sanders voters from the primary supported Trump in the general election.

And here's when trump "defended" Bernie during the 2016 primaries.

Divide and conquer. They're trying to replicate the Hillary/Bernie feud. Hopefully no one falls for that shit.

And I thought "the Republicans in the Senate are trying to disrupt the Democratic primary" was a precarious take.

He's solely speaking to the crazytrain Bernie supporters here, hoping they either sit out or vote for him again.

He's stuck in the senate during the impeachment trial along with Elizabeth Warren. So they're unable to campaign in Iowa before 6pm while Biden is able to campaign whenever and wherever cause he's not a senator.

Sucks for the progressive candidates that theyre being benched this close to the primary, but no one is rigging it against them and Trump & the republicans are only spouting this bullshit to divide democrats come Election Day.

I see what he's doing, trying to get the Bernie Bros fired up and make them fight with the Dems.

does he have any pet names for Bernie?

Seems he thinks he would absolutely win against Bernie so he's creating this narrative.

It's not the impeachment that is attempting to rig the election against the progressive candidates, its overblown nonsense like "handshake gate".

Is he trying to get Bernie the nomination because he thinks he can beat him?

Fool them once, shame on you.
Fool them twice, shame on No Child Left Behind and how the Bush era program ruined the American education system.

I mean, there are some Bernie supporters who will believe literally anything is a conspiracy against Sanders, so I'm not surprised at this tactic.

If I had to guess Trump is assuming he can easily beat Bernie but would struggle against Biden. So he says stuff like this to boost Bernie's chances. But I'm confident Bernie could beat his ass in the general so this is extra stupid.
Boosting the chances of the candidate with the most loyal supporters. What a fool.

Anyway, keep doing it.

It's a misread to think that Trump wants to go up against Bernie. He wants the bases to fight, and for there to be frustration and consuming between progressive and centrist wings so that things can go as 'planned', Biden gets the nom, and then he can DUMP everything he's been wanting to on stage in front of a person who has trouble getting through sentences in a coherent manner due to his stutter. Trump doesn't want to fight Bernie in a one on one. That means Bernie has a *chance* of winning, however slim, and Bernie is gunning for his pocketbook. Biden will let him walk away with his ill-gotten gains.

I think Trump really wants to go for the socialist angle against his opponent. Of the remaining contenders, it would be easiest to use this against Bernie, so he wants Bernie to win the nomination. He's obviously scared of Biden given he got impeached over trying to get dirt on him.
