Why is there so little buzz about the Xbox Series X?

Has the Xbox brand completely lost mindshare since Microsoft's anti-consumer policies deflated the launch of the XBO? Or did the Sony's re-emergence remind us that the PlayStation brand has locked down an entire generation (90s kids onwards) of loyal consumers thanks to the PS2?
