I think they have a better chance than before as price comes before graphics look at Wii, Switch, Saturn etc.
But they still lack the desirable content from my point of view so time will tell.

IMO they have no chance of winning the generation, but maybe they can do better than they did this gen.

Will gamers stop fighting each other of who will win Next Gen and enjoy the games that are released instead?

It's weird to talk about different console vendors "winning the generation" when it's never been so clear that they're all playing different games.

I dont think they will WIN, but I think they will close the gap to PS vs the current generation.

They're gonna win next gen and also past gen. Phil will enter a Time Machine and release an Xbox before we get the first console ever.

MS is playing a different game.

Nothing is gonna stop Sony and the PS5 dominating console sales.

Obviously "win" is a weird way to phrase it since there are so many different revenue streams and we don't always get a full picture. If we are talking in the traditional sense, i.e. console hardware sales, then I'm betting on Sony and the PlayStation brand. They produce too many excellent exclusives, have too strong of a presence worldwide, and with digital libraries being a real reason some might not switch I don't see Xbox keeping pace with PlayStation.

Of course a lot can happen in the next few years. We still don't even know all the details for these consoles.

Who cares. Hopefully both companies do good things and meet their expectations. The idea of a winner is just fanboy nonsense.

I think there's a pretty good chance Microsoft and Sony will both win at what they're trying the play. I guess if you mean total profit then Sony probably still wins, though I'm guessing by less than this gen.

I have no idea but I do think that Gamepass will be the big winner by the end of the gen.

I don't think they want a win, in a conventional sense, they need Sony and Nintendo tbh, they're looking to expand the market by making it easier for gaming to be part of daily life.

They're quite literally no longer competing in the same race as Sony. Microsoft is in a subscription sales business, while Sony is in a console & software sales business.

Comparing the two has never been more futile than it will be in this gen.

Please put more effort into threads in order to foster discussion. In this case, there is not a good baseline for discussion, and this is also a bit reactionary, so it is closed.
