Yu Suzuki has talked about the possibility of a fourth Shenmue game, as he claimed in an interview that it will not be possible to finish the story in Shenmue III. The interview was conducted by French website GamersFlag, but there doesn't seem to be much left to the imagination when it comes to the translation. This is what Suzuki-san said when asked if the end of Shenmue III left anything open for a sequel: 'Yes, the end will be open for a sequel', he replied. 'It will not be possible to finish with this third episode.'
So let's say at E3 2020, Shenmue IV gets announced. But this time, it's a bit different.
There is no crowd-funding, they have a release date: December 2022 and the ONLY platform you can play Shenmue IV on is the Epic Games Store. There is no PS4 version. The only reason Shenmue IV is happening is because Epic is funding it in its entirety. You either buy it directly from EGS or you don't buy it at all. This is not a timed exclusive; this is a permanent exclusive. It will never be released on any other platform. Ever.
Do you buy it? Explain your reasons why or why not.
