In case you don't know, he was previously promoted to the board in 2018, along with (notably) Yoshinori Kitase:

Yoshi-P didn't step down as Director. You are looking at the wrong list. Thats SE Holdings, he was never Director there.

The same is true for Yosuke Saito btw.

There is something important tho: Yoshinori Kitase is now also Director at SE Holdings among two other new directors. Congrats to him I guess.

Sorry, miscommunication. I thought it was because I came late to the topic that I said "lol", but I was intially confused. He wasn't on the board of SE Holdings, my mistake. He was and still is only on SE Corp's board.

Yeah same I thought he was gonna retire or leave and start his own company. This board was for the holding company that has all the subsidiares under it including Square Enix Co., Ltd where Yoshida sits on the board
