Wow, really curious: how come portability trumps high res and a smoother experience? For me personally, I do not view the switch as a comfortable gaming experience. I hate the dpad and the shoulder buttons on the thing, not to mention the poor analog sticks. I've had one since launch and haven't really used it much. Multiplats I prefer on my PS4pro. Genuinely not judging, just very curious since I'm in the completely opposite spectrum.

Handheld gaming is more intimate, convenient, and comfortable than being forced to sit near a TV or monitor. I wouldn't look twice at Wolf II on PS4 or PC but I'd give it a shot on the Switch. With Switch I can pick it up at any time, play wherever and in whatever position I want, and give it as little attention as I want because I don't feel obligated to have long sessions as I would with large stationary platforms and displays. It takes seconds to start playing and seconds to wrap up.

This post absolutely.

It's why I don't understand all the cheerleading against Switch ports.

Like, give us the option to play as many games as comfortably as possible. If you love other companies so much that you'd want to see others deprived of that than LOL

It's also bizarre how third parties feel the Switch is about a "Nintendo audience". My dudes, how about a not having to sit our asses infont of a tv audience? There are plenty of us. Get with it.

Man, this thread was hard to get through. It's the same song and dance. People so toxic over the Switch and now being rude to DF and Dark1x. It's embarrassing.

When the Switch came out, everyone knew it wasn't even half the power of the other systems. It runs these games with dialed back settings. But we never knew it could run these games in a playable fashion. The Switch is punching way above it's weight. But some people, despite knowing it can be played as a portable just want to shit on it and act as if it should have parity with the other big boxes. It makes no sense, you can't have it both ways. It makes these types of threads unbearable at times.

Anyways, very strong work, Dark1x. And Panic Button did an amazing job porting this game over. I purchased the game on Day One and I'm really enjoying it. Thankfully there are plenty of people with perspective who can appreciate the hard work that went into this. Never thought we'd be playing a game like this on the Switch - didn't think the tablet could handle it. I thought Doom was impressive and Wolf 2 runs even better than that game, even though there's more going on!

Is there a reason why XBX was chosen as the comparison platform?

I understand wanting to compare the ideal case to non, but it's a machine that cost $200 more and a full console.

Comparisons with original or S XBO like this really put this version in perspective.

I haven't gone back to docked since I first started playing though.

Both versions look very good. They look 99% the same to me.
