Some of the more modern songs threw me for a loop, then I realized there are probably a lot of mid-20 to mid-30 dads out there so that those songs could now be considered dad rock.

I play Izzy in a G'nR tribute band, and I'm a father of three and grandfather of twin toddler boys, and I object to the lack of Guns 'n Roses on this release.

Also, Avril fucking Lavigne?

Boise Area, Idaho
This is a horrible compilation, not because of the premise, but because it includes stuff like Blink 182, Sum 41, etc(seriously when did mall punk become dad rock)alongside Steppenwolf and Free and shit that actually is dad rock.

Because people from that generation of music are now dads, in their late 30s and 40's.

Scouting For fucking Girls.

Get the fuck out.

Edit - sorry, I really hate this band and this song, and it's crappy pop, not 'Dad Rock'.

I disagree with this. Missing a critical amount of gen-X dad rock. Seems like it skips a generation. Goes from like 1990s dads to 20-teens/2020s dads, missing that gen-x late 90s, early 2000s dads.

Where's Toad the Wet Sprocket? Better than Ezra? Collective Soul? Dishwalla? For slightly younger gen-x/millennials who are now dads, where's Guster, Dave Matthews Band, Dispatch, Rusted Root?! Where's 311... for the love of fucking god WHERE IS 3-11?!

They're missing a generation here. THere's a generation of shitty dad rock that they're missing.

THIS IS NOT WHAT I CALL DAD ROCK VOLUME 1.
