Amber Heard is under fire for Tweets she posted today about ICE checkpoints in her neighborhood. Although she has since deleted the initial Tweet, users like ForAmerica took a screengrab and shared it on her page.

One of her tweets earlier from today:

The tweet that she deleted, which of course isn't really possible on the Internet:

I'm thinking that tweeting out blatantly racist trash in between your pleas to help families who are being impacted by Trump's own racist policies is maybe not the best look.

Tucker Carlson took the tweet seriously until he heard there was a backlash. Now he's featuring it on his show.

Reminds me of:

Although, that For America organization that saved the screenshot seems kind of, uh, interesting too.

When trying to be woke and you come off as racist anyway.

Certainly not the first time we've seen someone fighting for a good cause only to show they also have very problematic views themselves.

And listen, if this was some tweet from 10 years ago, it wouldn't be fair to drag her for it. People change and grow. But when you're saying this shit literally in between tweets fighting for the rights of immigrants, that is monumentally dumb.

The Kelly Osbourne school of casual racism. Many people in the Hollywood elite probably have a similar lack of interest in minorities.

Ah yes the "You should be ashamed for letting this distract us from look, over there!" strategy that so popular these days.

I won't shit on her since it seems she meant well but it is sad that her only connection to Mexicans is just people she hires.

Her heart was in the right place I guess?

If you're gonna tweet about issues like this, be careful with your phrasing I think is the lesson here

Was it a joke? Wasn't it part of a series of statements that was otherwise dead serious?

the joke is that ICE's priorities are so fucked up they're coming to take the help, it matches the other tweet perfectly imo

its the same tone Dr. Strangelove has, "this shit is serious, but you cant help but point out the absurdity, ICE is literally coming to to abduct kind innocent maids"

She tried to sound good here, but legit stepped into the worst stereotyping possible.

Like, I'm legit wondering if she did this on purpose. This is really precise shit lol.

Honestly...well F her. Sorry Amber. But F you.

Hot Take warning: I guess if you're rich enough that all immigrants are to you is a source of cheap labor that otherwise isn't a part of your life it makes sense you don't want the wall? Is there a class layer to this?

I'm shocked that this rich, white woman's only exposure to the Latin community is in domestic assistants.

I'm a little iffy about posting this because that is a dumb, casually racist thing that she should probably be mocked for at the very least. But I get the feeling that this wasn't called out for the best intent:

All I know is he got in an argument with people while insisting that the friend zone is real, and someone claimed he was cyberbullying them through the argument. That and he said that women ruined chivalry. Haven't seen anything worse than that.

If Jimmy Kimmel or David Letterman said this during a monologue no one would blink an eye.

It's a joke..

It's perfectly fine not being equipped to speak eloquently on something. A simple "This is wrong", is fine.

This is true. But people see this in the context of a rich white woman saying it and it sounds like the kind of tone deafness that comes with privilege. On the whole, it's not a big deal to me. She's trying to be an ally, but that tweet was a bad attempt.
