Why is Colombia so salty about the match? I mean, the ref wasn't particularly good, but he wasn't favouring England. In fact, this ref had very poor control over emotional reactions in the game.
Seriously, Neymar has such a long history of diving and injury simulation and has also done so with such ridiculous frequency in every game of this tournament so far that he is beyond pathetic at this point.
If you want to defend him and his antics, I honestly don't know what to say at this point other than it's this kind of blind tribalism that is one of the worst aspects of modern football.
That said, Henderson and Lingard and some of the other England players were diving last night and they deserve calling out on it too. It's pathetic.
But let's not even pretend that Neymar is comparable. At all. It's not even close.

I'm honestly pretty chill and I think a LOT of reasonable conversation came out of this, especially with Syder and ozfunghi. I'm not mad or pissed off. I'm replying to people getting pissed for me saying what I think of Neymar as a football player, getting called names and told I'm a liar, but I'm honestly pretty calm and just trying to have a civil conversation here. The times I do get to have that compensates the times I get attacked.

Also it could be because hits on the face has much higher punishment so they naturally cover their face hoping that the referee gives a red card or something.

Get a sense of humour dude. Quarter finals is beyond 90% of the country's estimations for this tournament. If we get humped by Sweden, then they'll still come home to a champagne reception at Heathrow - we've gone from having the most underperforming team in world football to having a young, hungry team that have not had the expectation on them.
I'm ecstatic that we've finally won a shootout in a world cup - and I'm pleased we beat Colombia - dirty tactics from the players up to the management (Sterling getting shoulder charged as he came off by the coach, players scuffing the penalty spot and generally harassing the ref every minute). Looking forward to playing a team that want to play football and not kick seven shades of shit out of us.
Some of these memes are pretty good. They'll be useless once you have to face Belgium in the finals, though.
