I'm only now realising that ZTD is the third game, the controversial misfire I never played.
Time to bust out the Vita.
Maybe I should do Rayman 3 as well, loved 2 but never played 3.

The uneven framerate and jitter doesn't help either, that's just unforgivable for something with fighting game pretensions.

Much smoother in 1v1 PVP.

Yeah, I played up to dunking on a crap version of Ornstein & Smough, but I'm not really feeling it so far. I feel like it'd benefit from just being a pure Vs game.

Toggling lock on targets is a pain in the ass though.

Yeah, I had to rejiggle the controls: R3 for targeting, L3 for stance change, and attack and defence on all the shoulder buttons and triggers. Much better like that.

Man snatched my June games last-minute. Almost missed XCom 2 ...

Will download Absolver today and try it out eventually.

Absolver is neat, but jittery (even on pro), and I don't think I like the camera for a game where spacing is so important. There's a reason most precision fighting games are from a side view. And group fights are just a mess.

Also, I'm lost. I feel like I'm running in big circles. Everything is ruins. I don't know where these Marks are. Beat a bunch of the named ones, including the guy with the cutscene, but the big door still won't open.

Absolver has an interesting and quite fun combat system, although I beat the final boss yesterday after maybe spending 6 hours, or so, in total playing it. I honestly thought that I'd only just finished the tutorial/beginners area. Considering that I spent most of my time running around lost and searching for the next miniboss, the game is shockingly short.

It's a shame, because it feels like the makings of a really decent game is here, but I'm glad I didn't spend money on it.

Apparently after you beat the final boss you're supposed to mainly play PvP? There isn't any obvious ranking system or leaderboards so I don't really feel motivated to spend too much time doing this, especially since you have to wait a couple of minutes for the next fight to load.

So much division over Heavy Rain :O
I think it's great for what it is.
I always play Cage games with more people (Until Dawn as well), and swap controllers for differerent characters and we always have fun.

The PS4 framerate in Absolver seems to stutter a lot. I'm not sure I'm feeling this one. The combat seems cool enough but I think I'd like it more if the game was structured differently, maybe more like a beat 'em up or "character action" game rather than a soulslike experience.

Is anyone else having problems with Heavy Rain?

My screen keeps flashing, especially when there's text on screen. It also affects the frame rate. I've been unable to play the game. As soon as it gets to the main menu, it already starts flashing non-stop. The top and bottom of the screen, where it says "Heavy Rain" and "Select" respectively.

The game is unplayable even when there's no text onsceen, the frame rate is atrocious.

Downloading Rayman on PS3 right now. Says Rayman 3 HD Demo? What's that about? Once I try to open the game does it fix itself or what?

Is heavy rain any good? How does it compare to other david cage's games?

I played only Omikron and Fahrenheit. I loved the begging of Fahrenheit, but near the end the story lost me.

If I wanted to play only one Cage's game what would tou suggest?

Generally consensus is

Detroit -> Heavy Rain -> Farenheit -> Beyond.

Most would suggest heavy rain over beyond. Heavy rains fine.

Deception IV better be in next month's lineup then. I was quite happy when they announced it being part of the lineup.

Man, now that I know there's a
twist
in Heavy Rain I'm gonna be looking for it. I know absolutely nothing about the game otherwise but I'm currently playing through Until Dawn and loving it. Time for me to exit the thread!

The voice acting is really bad haha but the actual game is still decent beyond the silly intro with Jason.

Production values overall definitely much improved with each new game.

Yep. I remember it being dark and gritty but the acting and jank make it hilariously goofy in the modern day. It's crazy how standards change, I appreciate Detroit even more now.

Don't let it spoil your playthrough as there's multiple different route depending on decisions etc. All of my characters died before the end of the game. The real twist is that we are all Jason.

First time playing through Heavy Rain, and I fucking hate the controls. WTF were they thinking with those Stick Hadouken like QTEs.

I played Absolver for a couple hours today and unfortunately didn't like it. I appreciate the premise and atmosphere, obviously reminiscent of the Souls series. But I couldn't really get into the combat mechanics, too complicated for my tired old brain. Most games with stances tend to trip me up admittedly. Game didn't give me two trophies I deserved either, boo! (I realised the PS4 can now allow you to delete games from the trophy screen, nice!)

Hope next month's games are AAA ones I haven't played yet...

I have a feeling it wont match or be better than GWG this month.

One thing I really hope for is Arkham Origins on PS3.

Well at least we know there are no more QD titles to give for free lol

Give me The Surge or Sniper Elite and I'll be a happy man
