Joe's Playland in Salisbury Beach, MA. The arcade is huge, they have 2 floors on one side of the street, and a whole other side of the street with just arcade games. I haven't been to an arcade in years- that's me playing SI Frenzy, it's a blast (especially with 2 people). Also the Star Wars pinball game is great. I haven't played pinball in years so it was a real treat.

If you're in the MA area I highly recommend you give this place a try. A lot of fun.

I went to the Daytona Arcade Museum when I was there for CEO last week.

Was really cool.

So happy to see some pinball representation

Most arcades now are just light gun games, racing games, and shitty upscales of mobile games

That new Star Wars pinball game is great. I wish there were some near to my house- I'd play it on a regular basis. Unfortunately Salisbury Beach is almost a 90min drive. :(

That's pretty cool. Around here, all of the "arcades" are about trying to get tickets for prizes. This has pretty much caused most of the game to be little more than chance. Which is too bad, since I'm too young to have seen/remember arcades like what they used to be.

The LED space invaders games are crazy to see in person, very eye catching.

They've always been like that :P

There was plenty of that here- I just didn't bother to take pics of that because I knew it wouldn't interest the Era community. There were plenty of videogames and pinball tho, which is what I went for. A really fun Jurassic Park shooting game. The majority of the arcade games were sit-down games (like racers and gun games), with a few older ones like Pac-Man and Galaga mixed in. Pinball was great tho. They had some I hadn't seen in years, even some from the early '70s.

I was in that exact place a very, very long time ago. [OK I see the place is over 90 years old, so it wasn't that long ago] I recognize the entrance & floor. First place I ever saw Time Crisis, I fell in love with that game quick!

I remember playing a lot of Cruisin USA there too.

Cruis'n Blast is at the nearest Dave and Busters. It's really, really good.

This looks amazing and needs to be on as many platforms as possible. I really miss these type of games. Just over the top fun arcade racers.

Ahem, the Cruis'n brand is owned by Nintendo thus any port would have to be a switch exclusive(unless you want a 3ds port)

Also it's been out for a few years now

I'm aware of that, just saying in general these type of games were more prominent when I grew up in arcades and consoles. I really miss the Ridge Racer series as well. There was also an amazing off road game I used to play in the arcade as a kid as well but I can't remember the name of it.

I play across all platforms so of course I am always for content being available to as many people as possible regardless of ip ownership. I think you will see more of this in the future with content being released on mobile or publishers like Microsoft happy to have things like Minecraft be available everywhere. Nintendo has also released things exclusively overseas like Mario Kart VR, and content on Nvidia Shield.

In markets where they legally can't sell their own platforms, not elsewhere. Also even Microsoft has noted it's a special situation with minecraft(and mojang) and for that matter mojang hasn't developed another game outside of that. Cruis'n has always been exclusive to Nintendo systems when it leaves arcades, and this isn't likely to change. Well and raw thrills has only done one home port... which sucks since their Batmobile game looks awesome

When I was in Pittsburgh last month, I stumbled upon an arcade called Vantage Pointe. First floor is all arcade and pinball machines featuring new and old stuff. They also have a huge selection of Japanese Sega arcade cabinets with games like Fist of the North Star. Sit down cabinets include Mario Kart GP, Transformers and Crazy Taxi. Fighting games include Street Fighter 2, 3, Ultimate MK3, Marvel vs Capcom 2 and some NeoGeo machines. Light gun games included Aliens and House of the Dead 2. Second floor has basically every home console ever made and a huge catalogue of cartridges. Even has a Rock Band setup and VR in separate rooms.

Everything is free play for $5/hour, or you can buy an all day pass. I only had time to spend one hour there but it was the best arcade I've ever been to. I want to go back to Pittsburgh just for this place.

There's an arcade bar in Toronto called Tilt that I'm looking to bring some friends to on Sunday, for a $5 cover it's free to play any pinball machines or retro game consoles they have hooked up, and all of their cocktails are silly gaming puns, with neon glow in the dark wall shelves styled as the NES Donkey Kong to hold their liquor bottles. The place is rad but alas I have no pictures to share

A home port would be eviscerated for having only 30 minutes of content. Even if more tracks were created, the game would get hammered for being so "shallow".

Reviewers/the market is not kind to arcade games.

Space Invaders Frenzy and Pac-Man Smash were my favorites at a recent arcade visit.

Miner's Landing on the Seattle waterfront has a new arcade. There's about a dozen machines - off the top of my head I remember TMNT, SFII, Bad Dudes, the Simpsons, Mario Kart Deluxe, and some of the newer machines like Space Invaders and that giant Pac-Man/Galaga. A couple pinballs too, including Batman and Star Wars.

The old arcade moved over to Bremerton a couple years ago when they rebuilt the carousel, so I was glad to see a new one open. Can't be many arcades opening in this day and age so glad to see them doing well.

Round1 are the arcade kings. I've gone to their Lakewood location a few times, they're great!

...though I can't play Project Diva Future Tone on PS4 anymore. The cabinet ruined the port for me.

There's a pinball map app that I think is pretty accurate, at least for US people. If you join a pinball forum like Pinside or Tilt Forums, most people would be happy to point you in the direction of a local pinball spot :)

Glad you've taken to it again, pinball never really went away... it's a bit more niche :) There are multiple manufacturers now each making incredible machines. This is one of my favourite looking ones (never played, but it looks and sounds awesome):

(One guy designed that pinball machine, manufactured the prototype, programmed the code AND composed/made all the music and sound effects!)
