I just realized that the last two panels are incredibly funnier in hindsight.
How is her fight style kinky? Design...well, covered up completely besides the alts in 4, but those are sporty.
In that scenario he'd be dlc because that's less than a year of development time, for a character that's more complex than the average (unless he doesn't switch).

He can love both indeed. But I don't know if he loved X or not.
Dunno about that reasoning... I can see it in another way, 3DS is too saturated with games for a new IP to stand out, I think Ever Oasis on Switch would have done two to three times better.

I actually brought it up in on of the last threads. I think until that interview about continuing the X series, people really thought Monolith would try to buries the X series after XB2 success,but that doesn't really make sense
See XB2's support from Monolithsoft. Everybody loves it, and they also did an art contest.
Where is the claim that Sakurai has played and loved Xenoblade Chronicles X coming from? Like, I don't doubt that at all and I'd even assume it to be the case regardless, but I've asked for a source on that before and no one could provide one. I've specifically searched the Internet quite a bit for any mention of Xenoblade Chronicles X by Sakurai and I've never been able to find anything (all that comes up are his thoughts on Xenoblade Chronicles 2). I'd love to read what Sakurai has said about the game, if anything, so please, if anyone has a source on that please share it here!
But that doesn't mean they suddenly started to hate XBX and that they want to forget they ever developed this game like I saw some people think. Especially when they are starting to reference the game even in XB2

Another weird quirk I've been hearing from people recently is people saying Sakurai is a huge Xenoblade Chronicles fan. Which has been true recently when he did an entire article praising it earlier this year but I'm not sure how relevant for alot of Smash Ultimate's development.
Yeah, I think his article on Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is the only definitive evidence of him being a huge fan, though there was some evidence to suggest he may have had an interest in Xenoblade Chronicles even earlier. He posted a photo of a Monado replica from a Press Start concert on Twitter before Shulk was even revealed for Smash, but still that doesn't necessarily mean much. Xenoblade Chronicles did always strike me as a game that Sakurai would find appreciation in, though. It's a very special game.
Essentially my thoughts. With the lower focus on newcomers and how it seems the ballot was mostly for Ultimate I just don't see Sakurai pushing to get Rex in the base game but I wouldn't be surprised if he was the first DLC character
Yeah, I definitely don't expect Rex & Pyra in the base game either. Elma, on the other hand, I'm fairly confident in.
She wears a skin-tight bodysuit with huge heels and whips people. That's a pretty... recognizable presentation, depending on who you're talking to.
Funny enough, I think the more revealing, "sporty" alts make it less suggestive.
The game has some pretty coarse language in it too at times.

Because the two fake characters are in the same style, Ridley is not. If this image also threw in any other smash character then it would balance out.

I mean Shulk looks just like Little Mac, clearly they photoshopped his face to look like that.
One good reason for Captain Toad is you know Toadette would be his alt just like in the game. It would bring yet another female fighter.
Then again maybe they can have Captain Toad/Toadette as a duo like Ice Climbers. I dunno, seeing another two-tag partner team would be nice after all these years.
