Aww, rip man
After Keith Olbermann left, he was the only one left on msnbc with balls. Then he left.

It's never been the same.

Wow, I used to like his show. I know he had his critics but I liked his "in your face" style. That's a real shame.

Woah.

Remember listening to him on radio before he joined msnbc and he had good things to say about organized labor and unions. He had a weird trajectory. From a Republican went to a progressive Democrat and somehow ended on RussiaToday. RIP.

RT seems to like investing in progressive political shows for American audiences. Maybe because they tend to be speaking against the American establishment?

I used to listen to him when he had a right wing AM talk show. He never came across as batshit insane as Limbaugh, Hanniy, Savage, or Levin.

Went from pro union liberal guy to Putin mouth piece. Can't say I have much sympathy for American agents of Putin with everything in recent history .

How did he go to being a Putin mouthpiece? Seriously asking. I have not really heard much about him in a while.

Russia Today is Russian government propaganda attacking US government from the left and right. Working to create division and conflict in the US while spreading lies. You decide to work there, you know what you are doing. Mueller indictment of Russians had a section on RT I think.

"Why is [Tillerson's] business relationships and successes with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the business world and in the energy industry, why is that a negative on Capitol Hill?" he asked the panel, almost pleading. "Isn't that a positive thing that he knows Putin?"

Instead he went straight to Ed Schultz's view of the matter: "This has become a lifeline for Clinton supporters in an effort to reverse the outcome of the election. . . . In the meantime, the story has entered the arena of outrageous."

Schultz quickly threw to a recorded package, in which RT America reporter Alexey Yaroshevsky wondered how long the "spiraling downfall of sanity" over hacking in the U.S. media would continue. "Until the public sees forensic evidence, if such exists at all, these accusations should carry as much weight as online humor," Yaroshevsky reported.

"If they [the American media] want to go after fake news, they can start with the Clinton campaign and their accusations" about Russian involvement, he said on a broadcast in September.

Thanks, I didn't know he did that. Changed his ethics for a paycheck it looks like.

Ed talked a good game, but didn't seem to be anything more than an opportunist. He was never a true advocate for the left. I think he found it easier to get noticed on the left and took the path of least resistance.

Dead at 64 of natural causes is a bit weird. There has to be some underlying causes not cited just yet.

During Obama's time, I watched a fair bit of MSNBC daily. I was always a fan of Ed.

Was very disappointed a year or two back when I found out that he went to RT and became a mouthpiece for Putin and Russia.

Everyone has a price, I suppose.

What is the definition of natural causes

My guess is heart attack pending autopsy. Could also be some rare disease gone undiagnosed. For example, Alan rickman went to a doctor with nausea I think only to find he had late stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He died 2 weeks later.

Er no that's not him. He just hid it. Weird.
