Huh, it would be interesting if Avengers 4 starts off in the future after Scott manages to escape from the quantum realm through a time vortex.

Just got back from the theater.

This is pretty damn good movie all around no complaints from me. Everything felt like an improvement from the first movie such as the visuals, plot, and action.

Post credits scene was pretty god tier btw. All those good feels from the movie and then nothing but ash. Goddamn lmao

Marvel is easily 3/3 this year

Yooooo that mid credits scene. I let out a audible holy shit. And my whole theater gasped. That fucking snap. Damn you Thanos for bringing balance to the universe.

I freaking loved the movie. All the characters were terrific in my opinion. Evangeline Lily absolutely killed it as The Wasp. Paul Rudd was awesome too! Man there is so much I could talk about!

But that mid credits stinger! My gosh! I knew something like that was gonna happen but still! There was a feeling of tension in the beginning of the scene in the theater because many knew what was coming. Yet the audience still gasped out loud when the three were snapped.

The post credits scene, while funny at the very end, still had that sort of silent terror at seeing the alarms and the silence.

I really like the way they handled Bill and Ghost. It allows them to be antagonists without having to be unredeemable villians. Not only does it seem like they are leaving the door wide open for a Thunderbolts film, but it continues to push the idea of what a "villain" or antagonist in these films can be.

Thunderbolts can be a crossover with a pretty big amount of hype like The Avengers if they play their cards right.

Right now, my lineup would be Zemo as Citizen V, Ross as Red Hulk, Ghost, and maybe heroes like Bucky, Scott, and Clint as temporary members due to their status with the law being a little shaky. Maybe if Killmonger was able to survive, include him and another new team member. It could be a real mix of villains, reformed villains, and heroes trying to pay for their mistakes.

They're 100% going to use Cassie as Scott and Hope's replacement one day. I thought that could be a possibility but now I'm sure since the actress did such a great job in this film.

I think I liked this more than the first one. Really fun movie overall. One of my favorite Marvel movies thus far. Loved the scenes between Scott & his daughter. Evangeline Lilly was so good as the Wasp as well.

I think the snap hits harder for me in this movie compared to Infinity War because everyone is so nice in this movie (including the villains). Sucks to imagine them being gone after the snap.

Loved the movie but damn they really nailed the mid credits scene. Glad to see everyone else is getting the same reactions. I was in such a good mood and completely forgot about the snap so it hit hard.

Also, I really think Marvel should cut down on their post credits scenes and just have one. I'm getting tired of those post credits scenes that just makes fun.
Honestly I thought the post credit scene was kinda terrifying.

No music and that emergency alert tone just droning on as the Ant plays away.

It was more unsettling then funny to me.
I thought that the Wasp was gonna be part of the next Avengers movie.

:(

We know she apparently has at least a cameo. Now how that plays out is anybody's guess.

I thought this movie would have answers, which it did about where Antman and co were as well as who survived the snap.

On the other hand its still ambiguous leading me to wonder how Avengers 4 will start. Ghost could still be alive post-snap and help bring Antman back assuming he doesn't jump into time vortexes.

Maybe Antman finds Captain Marvel in the quantum realm? Since she's supposedly the strongest Avenger, does she use quantum energy? Lots of questions about what all this means for Avengers 4.

I know what you mean about the snap in this film. It's such a light-hearted and fun film and even though it didn't have the same heart-wrenching imagery, seeing all these characters gone after they've already vanished and hearing Scott as he's stuck all alone in the Quantum Realm with no way home was really brutal in what it all implies when you think about it, despite not being as dark or downbeat of a moment like in IW.

I still think the moment in IW was more of a gut punch but I'm surprised by how impactful this was without playing up the actual dusting and despite how I was expecting it. That's how you know it is good.

the mid-credits scene was fucking amazing. I hoped/predicted going into this that there'd be a dusting but i somehow completely fucking forgot about it until it happened.

Jesus fuck at that ending.

All that heart in the movie then BAM.

THE QUESTION MARK TOO.

THE THEATER LOST THEIR SHIT AT THAT.

Poor Ava/Ghost what's gonna happen to her?

Great movie. At times I felt it was just stunt stunt stunt stunt, but there was a lot of heart to it. Could have stood a little less Luis though. I get it, everyone loves him, but he just got on my nerves a lot.

Also, the girl next to me started straight up BAWLING during the post-credits scene when Hank, Jan, and Hope got Thanosed. It's like, girl, what did you THINK was going to happen?

A girl in my theater said aloud:

"What the fuck marvel!?" after the mid-credits scene. Honestly perfect. xD

Paul Rudd carried this film.

Fantastic performance. I thought he was funnier in this than Chris Pratt and Chris Hemsworth in their respective MCU movies.

While it's no where near as boring as the first one, Ant Man and the Wasp was very middle of the road. Felt pretty predictable and sterile. The best scenes in the movie were shown in the trailers making most of the action moot. I really wanted to see more great efforts with the shrinking and growing but it just felt like we got hit with plot constantly.

I felt that post credits scene coming a mile away since they were completely absent from Infinity War.

Yeah. Personally, rewatching movies like Ant Man & Spider-Man post Infinity War made the snap a lot more impactful to me. I genuinely love most of the normal, everyday characters in the MCU.

If Scott really travels into the future in Avengers 4, I'd probably be in tears when an "orphaned" Cassie reunites with Scott after living alone in a post Infinity War world.

I was pretty disappointed by this. Characters seemed all over the place. Good guys and bad guys alike. Multiple opportunities to stop each other and they don't. The way the overall plot moved was super contrived to me and kept taking me out of it. The best action scenes were all in the trailers too. Ghost was cool but had insanely inconsistent powers .Was she super strong? Super speedy? In one word the entire movie was messy.

But oh well . It's all good, they can't all be winners. Comedy was pretty good. Great mid way credits but I totally expected it . Oh and Cassie + Scott Lang were the best on screen chemistry in the movie. All of their scenes and dialog were A+.

Overall, it was a nice quick breather after the gut punch of Infnity War, but you really can't escape that snap lol.

Came in expecting a fairly tame movie within the MCU and it lives up to that. Paul Rudd is such a likeable dude in a lot of his roles, and this just continues that, and he has a solid cast to work with. Evangeline Lily as the Wasp was awesome, and the wait was worth it from the mid-credits scene in Ant-Man.

I'm glad to have gotten more Luis stories, but also glad they didn't overplay it. I was worried they'd just coast off that for parts of the movie, but they kept it in check thankfully. The whole truth serum scene was hilarious.

One of my favourite interactions in the movie is probably Scott and Jimmy Woo. Dude was torn between doing his job and being likeable. I definitely wouldn't mind it if he's back for Ant-Man 3 just for shits.

What made Ghost effective, I think, is the fact that her motivations weren't Earth-destroying stuff. She just wanted to be cured. The whole villain setup in this movie feels different from the other MCU movies, but maybe not in-your-face different. And speaking of villains, I'm glad they didn't make Bill Foster the real villain of the movie or something to that effect

It's actually pretty funny that, in the end, Sonny Burch ends up being the real villain of the movie, but what you saw was what you got. It's quite fitting, really. Low-level criminal ends up getting tangled with ex-cons and fugitives.

BUT THOSE CREDITS SCENES THOUGH.

Those promptly punched everyone's guts in the theatre. The mid-credits is what I expected — how the snap affected Scott's side of the MCU.

What actually got me shook more was the post-credits with the giant ant playing drums while chaos was happening outside (just seeing the TV with an emergency broadcast was enough). It's crazy to think how the world is reacting to half its population turning to dust. I hope Avengers 4 shows how the snap affected the world at ground level.

Just saw it. Found it very fun, though straightforward, which... was kinda refreshing after the past few movies?

Will say I found it a little disappointing that the snap was just post-credits. Though I found the lack of leaning on connections to other movies nice, I was still sorta hoping it'd just straight up interrupt the last act and they'd have to deal with it for a bit. And also it's kinda weird for them to just be doing experiments for Ghost in the middle of Thanos invading the world? If they were wrapped up in saving Janet at the same time, I could see how they'd ignore that stuff in favor of taking their one chance to do this, but this works a bit less.

...especially as didn't Infinity War cite house arrest as why Scott wasn't around, while some time definitely passed between him being done with it and that post-credits scene?

in any case, there's a decent amount of foreshadowing for 4, I guess

Loved the movie, they didn't waste a lot of time like a lot of movies do.

While I do agree with that-I felt at times the movie was too fast paced for its own good. The first half was frantic-there was no room to breathe. I love these characaters-I want to see scenes of them just hanging out.

Man, I'd pay to see an X-Con series on netflix. I love those guys.

It's very unlikely that much time passed between him being done with house arrest and the post-credits scene. The film states that it has been almost two years since Civil War so the events of this film likely happen days prior to Infinity War.

Super minor detail though.

Really enjoyed it, especially all the size-changing gags. The first movie was a bit funnier, though.

.

Is where I am. They had 3 years to think up some super creative ideas for being small or big. The half size joke was pretty funny and was more of what I was looking for. More interesting challenges like that. They kept tapping the brakes when they should have been holding both feet on the gas. Felt oddly bored through most of the movie.

The Ghost character design was awesome and her powers were cool, like a bad ass Kitty Pryde. And I like the new FBI handler guy. It's also funny to see the public largely used to the idea of supers running around, as shown by the coffee shop patrons. Loved seeing Goggins channel his Boyd Crowder character in this, as well.

It's really the Pyms on the beach with their home, and then suddenly jumping back to them in the city (I assume?) doing science stuff, that throws me off for this, hah. Did they just go on a one day vacation or something? It's not quite as satisfying of a moment, them finding a nice quiet place to live, if they're headed right back to SF.

It's definitely super minor as you say, and all to set up 4 anyway, so I'm not exactly complaining. Just feels a bit disjointed.

damn that mid credits scene was amazing, actually audibly gasped at it. I expected the mid or end credits scene to tie into infinity war but god damn. Probably my favorite part of the movie funny enough (still thoroughly enjoyed the rest of it though)

I genuinely want to know how the "Paul Rudd must play Michelle Pfeiffer" scene was directed and how many takes it must of taken.

I couldn't see myself trying to act like that without bursting into laughter.
