I'm all about playing as murder police and hunting a serial killer through dreams.

Also, I adore Uchikoshi's games, and Kozaki's character art. I'm so in.

Actually I hope it's not a pure visual novel but has some Ace Attorney style gameplay elements. Imho it would be nice to collect evidence, doing detective work and have to think a little bit when extracting information from witnesses using the artificial eye.

ho yeah definitely, like the escape room in his first games! What i meant is doing whatever he did witht ZTD, that was a really bad idea, lol

The Zero Escape trilogy is one of my favorite gaming experiences ever, so this is an insta buy for me. I'm happy to finally have an update on his next project.

I'm always on board for Uchikoshi stuff!

Here's hope that the animation in this game looks better than it did in ZTD.

Interesting tidbit brought up by a poster on reddit. The Spike Chunsoft logo having something ram through it at the start of the reveal could be a reference to Phineas Gage:

It's a very Uchikoshi thing to bring up.

EDIT:

TL;DR: Gage is an oft-brought up case in neurology and psychology. A metre long iron rod shot through his head, obliterating the space behind his left eye. Most of his left frontal lobe was destroyed, and his personality radically changed. He lost the use of his left eye (the detective MC has an artificial left eye in this).

Looking forward to it, I'm really glad he's doing a new IP instead of another Zero Escape.

I was thinking about this too.

This screams Uchikoshi.

Can't wait, as I loved all the works of Uchikoshi, axcorging to my taste Ever17 is a masterpiece as well as the Zero Escape saga (despite some defects). I hope it will come next year, 2019 would be truly a big year of gaming in that case.

Looks nice, I just finished VLR and it blowed my mind. The comments about ZTD are kinda disappointing though lol

Disappointed to see the ugly art style make a return from ZTD. I still don't really trust Uchikoshi after ZTD. People point to the Sigma Team's story as being the "good" third of the game but it was just as bad, if not worse, than the rest of the game.

This game has a lot to prove to me that he's not just phoning it in.

I'm more interested in this man's next game after Zero Time Dilemma than I was for ZTD after VLR... and I liked VLR a whole lot more than ZTD.

Also, AI = (jp) ai = eye = love; off to a good, very Japanese start

Other phrases are:

Prisoner No. 89
Cyclops Serial Killings
Geostationary Satellite X00639
Wadjet System
Abandoned Child
Endorphin Oxytocin

I can only find Japanese sources, but looks like Satellite X00639 was an unknown satellite 50m long orbiting the equator and speculated to be a US military satellite.

Interstingly, I haven't seen Aksys mentioned anywhere. Is Spike Chunsoft localizing this themselves?

Uchikoshi, what are you doing? You just know that satellite is going to be some insane shit.

Cyclops serial killings. A man whose personality changed after having his eye and frontal lobe destroyed. AI = eye.

Eye theme running strong here.

I was a little worried that the game wouldn't be bonkers but just going by this it seems like I was wrong. I'm really excited to see Uchikoshi tackle a story that isn't "people trapped in a place".

The Eye of Horus can also be referred to as the Wadjet Eye, etc.

I only heard of this game this morning. I'M FUCKIN IN. Can't wait.

I felt the worst parts of ZTD came from the low budget, but if this is well funded, I'm sure it will be really nice. And they're even starting from scratch with the story so it doesn't have to tie a 1000 things together to make it work.
