Yeah this game takes place across the whole sc timeline and it looks like talim's story takes place near the tail end of the timeline, where she's 14 or 15.I wasn't expecting her to be in this game. Granted I haven't been following it much, knowing that it's a prequel and that she was what, 14 in SC2? I just imagined she'd be like 10 in this game.
Considering that she got cut from SC5 for reasons and they didn't replace her with anyone with Tonfas, it is great to see her back.
Now it leaves me to wonder what the SC character will be revealed at EVO. Alot of people said that if there was a character that would be showcased, it would have been Talim as she was the most requested. I don't think that Voldo or Astaroth will have as much of an impact while Cervantes might. Maybe they could use this time to announce the return of "Console Exclusives" and we could see the return of Kratos sporting a beard and axe (and whoever would be the rep for Xbox).
Wishful thinking, but I get more excited for SC6 with each new character trailer.
She was clearly brown in SC3. In this new one she doesn't even have a tan, she's lily white...How is she whitewashed? She's always had just a slight tan, barring SC3 where she's actually pretty close to non white. SC2 for example:
SC3 was nice but it's the outlier here, talim's new model has the same skin as sc4, and her sc2 skin is quite close. SC4 was a real low point for her, in terms of both design and tiers :(She was clearly brown in SC3. In this new one she doesn't even have a tan, she's lily white.
I'm very surprised how little newcomers this title seems to have.

She was born in the JP SCII arcade release on July 10 2002, making her 15. But her birthday's in 3 days :V
I'll still buy it but why does the graphics/ and or animation look so terrible still?
She gave a spot-on performance as 2B.I'm hearing people say the new VA is Kira Buckland, who voiced 2B.
Yeah, you're probably right :(
Given how all the newcomers were rejected hard in SC5- to the point where they were the entire bottom of the char popularity poll, and my belief that a failed SC6 would be the end of the franchise- I'm not surprise they're playing it safe with the roster. If anything, they're not playing it safe enough and the SC3 base roster (minus bosses, mimics and extra characters) should all be in at launch, just like how MK9 had the MK1-3 base roster.
I'll be very happy if they bring back nearly everyone via DLC (even better if they do that with the base roster, but there's no chance that's happening). The SC franchise has been in such a bad state the past 10 years:Given how all the newcomers were rejected hard in SC5- to the point where they were the entire bottom of the char popularity poll, and my belief that a failed SC6 would be the end of the franchise- I'm not surprise they're playing it safe with the roster. If the DLC finishes out the roster I'll be happy with it- I'd rather see the roster finished than have more guests or more new characters. I'd rather have chars like Setsuka flesh it out.
Why do you even bring a weapon when you have such cutting edge forearms.Screenshot comparison of SC4 Talim and SC6 Talim: https://8wayrun.com/threads/soul-calibur-vi-general-discussion.19804/page-422#post-747093
They have to make up for all the characters they cut from the last game so "this old character is back" has as much hype as a new character right now. In fact, I'm not sure anyone really got all that excited about Gro.I'm very surprised how little newcomers this title seems to have.

Now I understand those "it's looking sharp" posts.
Looks like a new move entirely. An auto-Reverse Edge, in place of an auto-GI.What's that thing she does at 0:38 against Sophitia? Looks like she can enter some kind of special auto-GI stance after her BB. (Unless that's her normal GI?)
Talim is described as a 'tricky' up close and speedy fighter with special movement stances and a flurry of chained attacks. SC6 reworks her special Wind Saults to be more easier to use in her gameplay.
Talim also gets a new 'Air Rage' stance that can be used offensively and defensively this time in SC6. She's now capable of doing big damage by borrowing powers from the wind.
Whether it is using her Critical Edge which can actually restore her health in battle or by activating Soul Charge that augments her offensive tactics even further making for a more refined character to use in SC6.
She can now heal, and has an air-stance? Holy shit!
Seems her soul charge is a big deal this time, possibly giving her new moves? In the video at least one combo has her weapons glowing blue the entire time.
Filipinos have all sorts of Skin tone that ranges from black to brown to white. She could have any skin tone and it'll be fine mostly because our country is a melting pot of various races. Even coming from a tribe, skin tone vary as well depending on where the tribe is. There are tribes who live in the mountain regions that doesn't allow outsiders to marry into their tribe yet their skin is very fair. The Filipina girls I know as friends have very similar skin tone. I don't see her as whitewashed like I did VF5 Vanessa.
Looking at it closer I'm not sure if it's something automatic that happens after BB, or if she just manually used her regular old RE.Looks like a new move entirely. An auto-Reverse Edge, in place of an auto-GI.
I don't think the name "air rage" implies it happens in the air, it might just be the name of the stance because all of Talim's stances are named after wind and air. Perhaps it's that backwards-moving auto GI stance she did against Zas that lead into the big wind punch.
So you hit BBB, and it slows down time and starts a RE?The third hit of Mitsurugi's BBB is just his RE, i assume it's similar for Talim.
No, it's just the third hit is a normal RE attack. As in, it parries stuff on startup, you can hold it if you want to parry more than one attack, and then when you release the vertical attack comes out. It can be blocked unless fully charged. Only if it hits it goes into the slowdown RPS game.
Yeah, after all the favourites they took out in 5 an old character coming back is more hype than a new comer.
I'm expecting maybe a couple more new characters and the rest will be old.
Wait , unless i don't understand this sentence well ... taki wasn't in SC5 , wasn't she replaced by natsu , her disciple ?Sort of, but most of them are back now. Asta, Voldo, Cerv and Liz weren't missing in SC5. I'm 100% certain they'll be in and I don't give a damn. What could excite me now is Mi-Na, Hwang, Hilde, Rock or a brand new character. Rock is the least necessary because I could feasibly make him in CAS.
I hope that at least mostly sticking to the SC1 roster gives them a chance over goth circus girl and goth vampire guy and goth lolita.
Man, the more I think of it, I really don't like SC2. Talim is fine, but I absolutely can't stand Cassandra, Raphael or Yun-Seong. Also, the arcade version replaced Sophitia, Mi-Na, Rock, Siegfried and Hwang entirely. That's why I wasn't too bothered with SC5, because I had already lost a bunch of favourites once. Only Taki, Mitsurugi and Voldo were left from the Soul Edge cast!
I think he means he wasn't bothered by what happened in SC5, because the arcade version of SC2 already dropped a bunch of characters. Only Mitsu, Taki, Voldo, (and Cervantes) made it from SE to SC2.Wait , unless i don't understand this sentence well ... taki wasn't in SC5 , wasn't she replaced by natsu , her disciple ?
