That's how his eyes looked back then. This is him from Less Than Zero.

I remember thinking his eyelashes looked off but then someone posted a picture of him when he was young and they looked just like that. Dude just had weird features when he was younger.

The year is 2089. Digital recreations of Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, and Eva Longoria star in Mission Impossible XVIII.

Young Kurt Russell in GOTG2 looked so good that Im legit excited to see how this turns out for captain marvel. He looked exactly how he did in 80s.

Wonder if de-aged Harrison Ford would have boosted the box office numbers for Solo?

Paul Rudd is the same age in Clueless as his character in Ant-Man is supposed to be.

Ok I made that up, but you could buy it right?

Michelle Pfeiffer looks unbelievably good in Ant-Man and The Wasp, so I think I'm ready for Marvel to give these de-aged characters more time in the spotlight.

Nobodies do this with that deepfakes app, someone did a Rogue One Carrie Fisher better than Disney could.

I should hope the tech is there for billion dollar companies.

It was also the drugs. RDJ was already a junkie by the time he was a teenager, I'm pretty sure.

Oh, crap.... he was an intern for a law firm?
Oh, crap.... he was also her stepbrother.
Oh crap! the movie almost certainly implies they had sex at the end.

Ugh, it's hot today....

The only person who cared about Agents of SHIELD was Joss Whedon. It's why he worked to tie the show into the movies. The last DIRECT tie in we got was the Age of Ultron tie in.

I love how well all this (Ant-Man 1 & 2, CM, pre serum Steve Rogers, TWS Peggy) fleshes out the MCU history.

You really get a sense that Iron Man was just the audience jumping on point.

When Nick says to Tony, "You think you are the only superhero in the world?" with how smart Tony is, how would he have not known other superhereos existed?

I thought it was a huge leap just between Ant-Man 1 and 2. It will be really interesting to see it used for a whole movie.

I think it's cool. Personally I hate prequel recasting like Solo did so I'm down. Hopefully it's not too jarring.

I'm also surprised that the interview straight up said no to doctor strange in Spiderman 2

He knew? He knew of the Hulk, he tried recruiting him, Captain America was working with his father. Wouldn't surprise me if theres been rumours or urban legends about Ant-man (Pym) and Cap Marvel too, and in that case it's probably safe to say stark know about them as well.

Many just weren't active when the first Ironman took place.

I'm not sure the tech is there yet to convincingly pull this off for a whole, but the de-aging on Pfeiffer was extremely well done (Douglas' looked not as good, but he's also noticeably older than Pfeiffer).

This is the post credits scene of the first IM. Not IM2

Because the only publicly known hero before then was thought to be dead. Anyone else was either a current/former Shield agent whose existence was covered up or they weren't a superhero yet.

Really hoping this wildly contradicts Agents of SHIELD a whole bunch just like Homecoming stepped all over it, just for the reactions on here.

Homecoming didn't and this won't. Coulson has a small part in this. He simply works at SHIELD in the 90s. It's doubtful he's going on a space adventure.

But you're also being childish and it's quite silly.

It will and no one will give a damn outside of the 12 people that actually think Feige cares about the shows.

There is absolutely zero reason why this movie would contradict the show. There's nothing to contradict.

SHIELD existed in the 90s. This takes place in the 90s. Coulson worked there. We're going to see Coulson for a couple scenes -- he isn't fighting alongside Carol in the final battle.

Some of you guys are really weird with this stuff.

I don't think a young version of Samuel L Jackson ever existed in this universe. Dude aways looked in his 50 as long as I remember.

Looper's aging makeup looked awful.
Attempting to make JGL look like Bruce Willis served only to make him look like someone that had to get a lot of plastic surgery after going through a windshield. That transition in the timeline when Young Joe turns into Old Joe looked so ridiculous, especially with that hairpiece they put on Willis in the attempt to make it more seamless.

De-aging is fine.

Making a dead person full CG is a little much. Looking at you Rogue One.

Will be interested to see how many scenes they show up. The longest example of de-aging tech I can think of recently was young Logan.
