Left my office to pay my rent for the month and my dash thermometer said 118F.

This. Is. Garbage.

yeah man, this whole its consistently still in the 90's until late october, that started 5 or 6 years ago

Yup, I was just talking to my girlfriend about this. The past couple years it's been hot all the way until nearly November. It is insane.

My high today was only 77.

You should just NoCal ERA in the Bay and become enlightened.

I'm so fucking glad i moved to portland . Fuck SoCal heat

Up my way in Humboldt County on the coast our highs are in the low 60s :-)

Boy, golly, and gee, it's as if this isn't record breaking heat happening to southern California right now. There's a thread about this. This is not normal.

Remind me to chime in about how swell my view is when the oceans rise, and how nobody likes northern California.

Pretty much this, in socal its been a cool 72 degrees for like 3 months straight with no humidity. Basically perfect weather. We get 1 heatwave for 3 days and the haters come out of the woodwork.

Its hot today, its hot tomorrow, then we'll go back to 300+ days a year of 70 degree weather.

It's 104 in West LA at 7:30PM. What the flying fuck is this. So many apartments here don't even have AC. They just installed one in my place 2 years ago.

How the fuck do Apartments not have AC in West LA? It's not like the Bay Area where it struggles to reach 90 all year. Isn't it usually running in the 90s most of July?

Ok so .. when I went to dinner it was 103, I'm back home at 7:51PM and its 110 now lol wtf...

Going to pour a bourbon and float in the water for the rest of the night goddamn

Damn RIP Palm Springs its 118 over there.

One of my friends and his wife are there this weekend celebrating their anniversary. He told me earlier it was 119 and that was hours ago. I'm sure it has to have broken 120 by now right? I remember being in Blythe a few years ago and it was 123 outside and muggy due to the river. It was like literal hell on earth.

Was 116F at our office in Sherman Oaks today. My in-laws in Rialto were seeing 102F at 8:30am, hit 114F for them.

I was moaning at 85F here in Portland ME yesterday... hang in there ERA.

Because the landlords here are shit tier if you aren't living in a tower. It's common not to have ACs here and in Santa Monica, and if you have one it's just a small wall AC. Same with San Diego (close to the coast). To be fair I only use my AC 3 months out of the year but when you need it you need it lol.

My poor AC units are not keeping up with this heat. No central air on the Eastside. My bedroom and living room are still got AF. In the mid 90s with full AC on both rooms.

Because when they were built, it wasn't Devils asshole hot. The house i grew up in foxhills/ladera didnt have ac. Most have heaters because it used to get cold in winter.

It never got unbearable hot, just open some windows maybe use a fan hot... But not central ac required.

I just checked the temp of my pool, its fucking 94 degrees in the the deep (9') end... holy shit.
My gym has an indoor heated pool I went to today and the temp of that was only 84 degrees. Damn. Your pool sounds closer to a hot tub today. xD

Stay safe out there everyone; check on elderly relatives and make sure they have AC and are staying cool. It will affect them more than you.

Same here. I have 2 10,000 BTU portable ACs... anything over 83 degrees and they're really useless. It's been 86-90 inside all day. I'm fucking dying.

My house cant get below 86 with the AC running all day. Keep thinking I'm wasting electricity so I turn it off and the temp jumps to 90. This fucking sucks.

When the water rises, maybe it'll wash the shit off the streets in SF.

nice to see it's returned to being hotter than the surface of mercury after a strange stint of not-100+ degree summers.

It won't go below 90 degrees until midnight. I have never experienced heat like this before. Please tell me August and September aren't this consistently insane.

11:30pm in Ktown and I'm sitting in my boxers in front of struggling AC unit. After 30 minutes of it blasting the room reads 93 degrees. @_0
