Basically Trump and the GOP's idea of health care is: Unless you're rich, don't get sick. If you get sick and you're poor, just so fuck off and die somewhere.

I think this story provides new information, in that it's not just Trump and his lackeys asking for easing of sanctions, but more traditional members of the GOP.

Normalization is rationale enough to not enforce the sanctions, and on a long enough timeline, to have them voted against.
Johnson thought the FBI has a secret society against Trump, he has always been a lackey, just like the majority. But it doesnt matter because a repeal isnt passing congress either way, So bed wetting over that (not you necessarily)specifically is becoming super irritating. Like saying Trump is just gonna write an EO making the ACA go away or some dumb shit like that, he literally can't so please everyone for the love of god just focus on things he actually could do.

What the man did IS terrible.

They were "joking" about hanging and lynching blacks" during their meal. Both sides don't encourage this type of behavior. Trump has emboldened Americans around the country to express their free speech by stating actions that can be considered in line with terrorists spreading hate. It's unfortunate that this man took such heinous actions. It's also unfortunate that these kids were "joking" about hanging and lynching blacks during their meal.

That kid got off light. He would of gotten stomped out if someone black with a bone to pick was there instead.

I'll just say that I sympathize with the man more than that MAGA asshole. That hat is a hate symbol intended to provoke, denigrate, and promote the incitement of violence against minorities. I'll leave it there.

Yup. People wearing that hat know what they're doing. Except for the kids whose asshole parents put it on them.

Will someone tie Marco up, beat the shit out of him, then explain to his worthless ass all this shit started at the top when Trump decided to shit talk everyone and employ racism and hate as modern politics. Its like these pieces of shit completely ignore the existence of the president, his twitter, and his rallies.

Why do Republicans seem so intent on killing everybody when we've seen time and time again that voters care about nothing more than not being killed

Bechard's lawyer about to be like Stephen Chow in Kung Fu Hustle:

Is he really going to let Avenatti question her under oath?

I... What? What in the world is happening here? Why is the Playboy mistress suing Michael Avenatti? Why is the plaintiff's lawyer requiring Avenatti to question his client? I feel like I'm missing a lot here

The kid is lucky he didn't get a punch up the bracket. His racist fuck parents obviously never got one, and he's well on his way to becoming Richard Spencer. Maybe he'll get that punch sooner than later.

Marco Rubio is the biggest argument in favor of four year terms for Senators to me. This useless trash gets to skate by for another three years and change before having to worry about reelection because Florida couldn't get its shit together.

Yes, I get why it's like that, but still.

Rubio also got elected because he said that he'd take a a "serious look" at gun laws after Pulse.

He lied his fucking ass off to win

Rubio is evidence of some constituencies not giving a damn. They reelected a guy who had actively been saying and demonstrating that he didn't like doing the job. I blame the people for that shit.

Broidy stopped paying her. That's presumably a breach of contract of the settlement agreement.

She's suing Broidy (presumably for the breach) and Davidson, Avenatti and up to 20 others (I suspect maybe FBI agents) for, perhaps, conspiracy to induce the breach of contract.

The complaint has been sealed. We don't know why or at whose instigation.

The plaintiff's lawyer is not requiring Avenatti to question his client. Avenatti is doing this off his own bat, presumably to get at what is going on. Seems like a bit of a dick move by Avenatti.

She is claiming he violated her NDA by exposing details. As Avenatti points out he never worked for her or had any official details so its pointless bullshit. She is mad because her source of money is now refusing future payments as it went public so she's going to lash out all around.

So long as she wasn't the one who confirmed the details of the NDA and Broidy was then she should have him (I say knowing very little about NDA law besides how it pertains to reporting and not knowing anything about the agreement itself). Anyone else is just her reaching, I would assume.

Gotta start em early

I've tried to just live post 2016 election but it's really hard. I'm in Mexico for my brother's wedding and these are just fucking your regular people who happen to some be some shade of brown and speak Spanish. I've had many cab drivers tell me how sad they get when they get when Mexico is type casted as some hell hole of drugs and crime. I've had a great time, wish more people made an effort to appreciate people who just maybe look a little different to them.

Education doesn't really help with learned racism from family/peers or people who are just assholes.

It literally does though.

When I have time I can pull a plethora of studies that show that.
A major fallacy when it comes to racism is that it only applies to idiots, when smart people have and routinely used their intelligence to "reason" their way into racist viewpoints. And, a major thing the left needs to learn is that racism isn't out of ignorance or a lack of education; it is an ideology. They mostly aren't reasoned into it and mostly can't be reasoned out of it.

Ah, you could be right there. How does this scenario grab you:

Claim is sealed because it contains juicy details that would otherwise be breach of the settlement agreement. It's sealed to put the screws on Broidy to pay up without there being a breach on the plaintiff's part. The other parties are named so that if Broidy doesn't pay up they get served with the claim in full and the word is out, entirely legitimately. Journalists indeed. And that's why Avenatti too.

There was a recent study that looked at slave ownership and found that counties that had slave owning populations translated into more racist attitudes today.

Education is local. So are people's experiences. What ultimately helps most is raising a kid in a diverse area where they learn to adapt to interacting with a variety of cultures and people, much like you bring a dog to a dog park as a puppy so it doesn't bark at everything out of fear.

I am specifically talking about children. Children can absolutely escape from those toxic viewpoints if provided with actual education

I mean any social change isn't one faceted. Real education at a young age is important yes, but so is providing mobility out of rural America, and that avenue is college.

The parents are educating their kids at the same time the school is. Thats the issue. You can give them all the Mr Rogers and Sesame Street you want but they're surrounded by people propogating those beliefs at home, at church, at a baseball game.

You have to start somewhere. I have no sympathy and maintain absolute disdain but for the young children they need to be offered every opportunity to climb out from these holes.

I'd love for you to explain the last two revisions of your posts to me, since i read them both.
I don't want red text explaining to me that moderation hasn't changed in recent-ish months to allow a more favorable discussion on free speech. As people on this hangout have presented, a lot of OT stuff has... shifted in discussion.

Maybe I'm an outlier but the internet converted me through Digg, Reddit, and the Adult Swim forums around the age of 20 later refined by neogaf. Before then I unironically voted libertarian in 2008 and listened to Alex Jones. Grew up around a lot of racist slurs being tossed around my immediate family, and went to a private Evangelical Calvin school. But it's not racist according to them unless used on people that deserve it, which included Obama. Not saying I'm good now but I learned to try.

I guess a lot of others get converted through college too. I think a lot of people are malleable between 18 and 24 when people stake out their identity separate from their parents. Before or after that is near impossible.

for me that malleability started at about 15, but it probably helped that I was super into history and my APUSH teacher was an avowed syndicalist

e: it also definitely helped that I'm mixed-race to begin with so I already wasn't raised in The White Zone
