There's this character I bumped into very early on in the game called, Tiso... I think?

I believe I bumped into him about three separate times before I saw him sitting on the bench in the Colosseum of Fools, saying that he 'prays I never found out what that is', with regards to his 'deadly surprise' within his shell-like weapon.

After finishing the first colosseum challenge, he has now gone!

Any idea where Tiso has disappeared to?

Have a look around Kingdom's Edge.

I don't mind the boss run back so much. I'm sorta used to it from dark souls. It's just the fast travel in general. There is so few fast travel points. Some times you have to slog through an entire area because there is no fast travel point in it. It's like one particular aspect I actually dread having to do in the game. I'd rather die over and over to bosses than keep going back and forth between stuff I already have done.

You're right. The placement of fast travel points probably couldn't be any less helpful. Whenever I need to go somewhere, 9 times out of 10, it's a tedious chore just to get to a station to travel from.

Traversal is fun but I feel like 50% of my playtime with this game is just backtracking.

Probably my only qualm with an otherwise perfect game.

The truth hurts lol :( next playthrough

First time back in the Crossroads in forever
AND THEY'RE INFECTED!
holy shit thats awesome

The infected crossroads are cool, but there's no reason why it should close off so many hallways around the stag beetle station. By the time you reach that point, traversing the infected crossroads won't be difficult, so cutting off random useful paths without marking them just makes the game more annoying and tedious instead of hard in any interesting way.

I'm unreasonably frustrated with this since it's basically the only blemish I found in the game, which makes it stand out all the more.

Yep. Just feels like annoying, useless trolling, especially since it's not indicated on the map and I forgot about it each time. As if late game is a great time to make traversal even LESS efficient, and not more.

I think I've finally gotten myself stuck.

I'm in City of Tears, and I've back-tracked several times but can't seem to get out of the area I'm in.

So I stumbled into City of Tears mostly accidentally, going through Fungal wastes. I was looking for a save spot so I kept going, and eventually I stumbled into this one area which is like... a River, peaceful music, and there's a large statue to 'The Hollow Knight' which I can inspect. There's one other thing to inspect which requires a simple key (which I don't have). There's two elevators. If I go to the furthest left, there is the nail forger dude, who I already had strengthen my nail... But now... it seems like i'm stuck. Neither elevator works. They're both 'called' and in place, but jumping on them does not go up, it doesn't do anything, and hitting the lever next ot them doesn't do anything. There's a door at the farthest right but it's locked.

I've got the wall climb and dash ability, but I can't figure out where to go. There's only a couple enemies so I could let one of them kill me, but I've got like 800 coin things and I don't want to die and lose them. I also don't have a map for the region so I'm blind!

Darnit!

Nevermind i just figured out how the elevator works... that was frustrating.

I thought the other elevators worked by just jumping onto them, and then staring at the screen I noticed the up/down arrows. blast it.... spent like a half hour going back and forth haha.

I'm close to the end of the game and I'm trying to raise the percentage a bit. The Fool trial seems pretty annoying honestly, especially due to the incredible length; I'll probably give it another try once I get the unbreakable strength charm. Speaking of which, any quick way to earn Geo? I need like 25000 for the last two unbreakable charms.
Do the dreamer's grave appear on their own? And disappear once I beat them? I'm not sure if I'm missing any or not. I do know I'm missing a couple of dream bosses though.

It has been a long time since a single player game has kept me up late at night every night like this game has. I hit a brick wall against Lost Kin so I moved on to some other stuff and found the hive and this and that, all of the sudden its 1am. Shit I gotta get to bed....

I have a question about the DLC already released. It is all already packed in with the Switch version right, will I naturally find it before finishing the game or should I be searching out how to access it?

Obviously a lot of the content in this game is missable on a blind playthrough but should I be seeking the DLC out towards the end of the game?

quickest way I know to earn geo is
to go to deep nest and go to that area near the top of deep nest where you find the tram pass. If you remember there are those flying enemies there that shoot out those little bugs. So each one of them shoots out like 3-4 little bugs and then after that, they go crazy can start attacking you directly. So what you do is let them shoot out out all their little bugs, kill those, then once they go crazy kill them. Once you've killed all of them in that area, go back to the bench to reset and do it all over again.

Thanks, that did seem like a good area (I earned a lot just going through it once or twice to explore it properly). The only downside is that I don't want to go to Deepnest. I hate it.
I'll still do it though, need that Geo.

yes it is all included in switch version and yes you will naturally find it throughout the game, I can almost promise you , you won't even be able to tell it's DLC. Most of it feels like it should have been there from the start, but not in a "they gave us an incomplete game" way, just that it fits so perfectly int what was already there. Some of it can be very hard tho so id probably beat the main game first

The best, easiest and fastest way is to do the second Trial of Fools. Not very hard, not very long, and it gives you 2000 Geo per fight.

Finally beat NKG. It took me only 3 tries this morning. Last night I battled him like 30 times and couldn't do it. I guess I needed some sleep.

Now I only need to beat The Radiance to complete my 107% game.

Absolutely amazing game.

lol this is bait, don't take it. the trial of the fool is very long and not easy. And you can earn 2000 geo doing it the deep nest way in half the time than it will take you completing that trail, with way less risk

edit: oh wait you said "second" , emmmm yeah that ones not too hard in comparison to the last one but still stand by deep nest route being quicker and def less risky

I just bought it this morning for 11€, using the gold points which I saved from launch day of Switch. I've already played around 3 hours, it is truly beautiful! The design is fantastic, I didn't find myself as lost as I thought in the world, until now I was able to understand where to go. My only problem is that I don't remember where checkpoints are when I search for them for the moment (maybe there are some objects to buy for that, I will check later).

I didn't expect it to give this much. It seemed extremely fast even the first time, so with a few more upgrades it should be even better. I'll have to give this a try.
Not going to Deepnest for a just a bit longer

Should I fight the final boss once before getting the void heart? Or should I just go straight for the true ending?

It doesn't really matter. You get a bad ending and the Hollow Knight is added to the Hunter's Journal, but there's a second ending where you get the Void Heart and still fight and kill the Hollow Knight.

No bait, I was serious. And yes, I did say second. The second trial should be easy and short to do.

It's all totally seamless except for one quest which is clearly an addition. So kind of like you said, it is only missable in the same sense that a lot of the original content is missable too. If you didn't know any better, you'd think the DLC was paltry.

Thanks for the replies. I would imagine that it is somewhat similar to how I stumbled upon the Hive area.

Finally beat the game with the True Ending and 98% completion. What a fantastic experience, even if it did have too much backtracking.
The Radiance was a tough fight, but I was basically able to brute force it with Steady Body + Unbreakable Strength + Lifeblood Core + Quick Slash. With this, getting through Hollow Knight is a breeze since you can easily damage race him, but even still, The Radiance partially came down to luck for me, as in the last stage, it stood still for a decent period of time two times in a row, allowing me hammer on it nonstop until it died.
I'm tempted to jump into the Grimm Troupe stuff right away, but for now, I think I need a break.

Crap... I'm only missing two grubs. I wish the game let you view what you've found area by area. I have no idea where the ones I missed are.

Yeah I wish the big grums tells you what area left. Something like "You're missing one in "X" area" not give you the location and but at least you know what area to search.

Where do I get this item? :)
In the Tower of Love, reachable from Kingdom's End. No enemies, just a boss (not overly hard, but prepare your charms for crowd control, like spore shroom, that helps), bench is nearby in City of Tears. You need the Love Key to access it. I forgot where I picked that up.

What a game! Totally in my top ten of all time. I kind of want to do more but for right now I might give it a break. I'm not even really sure what I missed.

Also did anyone else feel like the difficulty was super front loaded? Once I got the shade cloak things were so much easier.
