Chopped cheese is a bronx thing that only made its way to the other boroughs relatively recently. Its delicious and ill fight you IRL if you talk shit about it.

Philly did it better, but a chopped cheese is still REALLY good.

I mean, it looked great to me. I don't mind that they just chopped up a burger and put it in a different bun, that sounds tasty.

Had one in Harlem the other week and it was pretty disgusting to be honest. Was also at a vegan joint so that may have been why...

That's fine....not Chicago original though :D

I'm sure the pizza they make there is pretty good. I'm just saying....Deep Dish ain't pizza bro.

Nah, Chicago's got its own thin pizza if you wanna be nitpicky about cheese and tomato sauce on dough . I've been to NY and our pizza is without a doubt better. NY has better hot dogs, I'll give em that.

Nah fam. NY pizza ain't shit compared to Chicago Pizza. THAT is the real deal.
Lmao

Anyway no, jersey bagels are better than NYC bagels but NYC pizza is the best in the states hands down

But it really is silly how fucking TERRIBLE bagels are outside the tri state area. When I lived in Louisiana no matter how nice the place the bagels were always god awful.

My favorite thing in NYC is the Jamaican beef patty. Shits so good especially with some cocoa bread. Fuck, $5 for 2 JBPs and the bread is an excellent lunch.

Man, you had a chopped cheese at a vegan joint. So not only was there no meat, but no cheese. How does that even work?

NYC
Watch the first 30 seconds of this video and what this guy says.

https://youtu.be/cugl5mmfcxY

Ok so this must be a local ny food with some special touches or ingredient choices that's really unique and part of NYC culture right? A heart and soul food that's loved by the locals and is special only to nyc?

It's a fucking chopped up hamburger meat on a long roll, that's it. Motherfucker you can't just rename shit that everyone's been doing for centuries everywhere and then call it a magical special to my place only food.

Watch the rest of the video if you want to see New Yorkers jerk each other off because they invented a basic fucking sandwich

Cheesesteak>>>

Philly fanboy right here.

Is this like that thing were New Yorkers think they have real bagels but then this guy in Canada shows them up by handmaking them?

Nah those bagels are trash, we also make them by hand also.

chicago pizza is superior

It's not pizza though.
never actually heard of chopped cheese but go to Washington heights and get yourself a chimichurri from one of the Dominican restaurants, it's similar but better looking and better ingredients.

I had chopped cheese at a corner store and it was fucking gross. Like they used the kind of cheese you get from WIC. The good thing about New York is I was able to get a decent slice the very next block.

Chop cheese is alright, I ain't never had the OG version from Harlem but I got them from around the city. Hollis deli does it damn good.

But ya know, I'd rather have a cheese steak and if your bodega ain't on some bullshit they make cheese steaks.

We got tavern style thin crust too that kicks ass. Too bad you don't get the choice, what with your 1 style of long floppy flaccid pizza.
Lol, every pizza joint has a variety of slices, Sicilian, grandma, the classic. They all bomb AF.

I'm sorry man, that barely looks edible and it's still St. Louis style. What makes that pizza uniquely Chicago?

Sounds like you have bad taste lol. The only similarity with St. Louis style is the squares. St. Louis has a unique cheese blend. Chicago style is mozzarella like nature intended. If you think that's inedible you must hate NY style too

Reason stuff like this is so big in the area is because of just how many delis etc. are around making fantastic food. I mean growing up just outside the city there was this place that made breakfast sandwiches on big fresh baked rolls each morning. Nothing overly unique about it egg, bacon or sausage cheese etc. like you can get from any fast food place but being a mom and pop deli the thing was made in a quality and quantity the fast food places could never compete so sure it was just sausage egg and cheese but it was fucking amazing. It was like a bit of heaven any morning that was breakfast.

New York in general have over hyped food and this is coming from a New Yorker.

New haven have better pizza and Montreal have better bagels and smoked meats.

Super high end dining and a huge array of ethic foods in the ethnic neighborhoods of queens are the only food related thing nyc does well

I didn't say I only had one style just that deep dish ain't pizza. I love St. Louis, shit even California.

I didn't say it was inedible, the picture you posted wasn't a very flattering picture. It really doesn't look that far removed from stuff I can get at a local cafeteria but I could be wrong, could taste amazing.

Neither is that floppy sub-mall food court garbage NYC calls "pizza," but that doesn't stop them from calling it that.
Ha, living life on the edge.

Thats fine but that's not some special sandwich unique to nyc.

It's like if ny-ers started calling pizza "cheese plates" and think it's some long nyc tradition only

Dead serious, I'm gonna start using the phrase "cheese plate."
