It's a genjutsu that hypnotizes the user and SOMEHOW this allows them to basically rewrite reality so that the best outcome always happens. So you somehow hypnotize yourself so that that attack that killed you didn't actually kill you and reality bends to your mental state somehow. It is the dumbest thing in Naruto. Using it permanently blinds a sharingan.
Itachi loved his village more. He wanted Sasuke to become a hero for Konoha and would rather him die if he became Konoha's enemy.

Nah, he made Itachi pretty clear. Part of why Sasuke is so goddamn frustrating is that he knows Itachi loved the village and wanted Sasuke to protect it but to avenge the brother he supposedly loves so much he wants to destroy it and crush everything Itachi gave his life for.
