Also the GOP can call the Democrats misogynistic if they attack Barrett.

"Demoncratss are supposed to be the party of women, but look how they are attacking an extremely qualified woman for SCOTUS."

Democrats should call out this "but he/she is qualified" crap. Trump is barely qualified to do the most basic of work. DeVos isn't qualified for DoE. Pruitt wasn't qualified for EPA. It's not something that concerns them at the least.

I expect this to be a major emphasis in 2020. It's clear what the inexperience is doing to our country. That's why I feel someone like Biden has a leg up on the competition in the early stages. Not too hard to argue, "Hey--I've been there before in that very White House in a time almost all of us want to get back to."

As much as I'd appreciate a steady hand, Joseph shoulder rub Biden would not be my preferred nominee. He's simply too easy to attack imo. Not that he wouldn't do a good job as president, of course

If this was 2012, I'd agree with you. That said, Trump (the man with multiple affairs, a report about a sexual assault of his wife, etc.) is president. Rubbing shoulders isn't going to be too much of an issue.

I love Biden and think he'll be a great president. I think he is one of the very few who will be able to go head to head with Trump and actually make him look bad. Would I rather have Gillibrand? Yes, easily. But I feel like she'll be easiest to attack (Hillary 2.0), Booker has a bad NJ corruption history, Harris hasn't done anything yet to prove to me she can attract votes in a national election, Bernie is just Bernie, Brown is anti-trade, etc.

Regardless of my feelings, it's going to be an interesting primary.

The problem is the attacks on Democrats for this sort of thing work, while the attacks on Republicans largely do not work unless it's basically proven (like with Moore).

OK-05 and AR-02 (although the latter has been rated Lean R by Cook and maybe one other forecaster). Also, everyone seems pessimistic about GA-06 now, but I think Handel could still see a shock on election night.

I also find it funny that McMorris Rodgers is more vulnerable than Herrera-Beutler despite the latter's district being a few points less Republican. It shows how candidate quality makes a difference: Lisa Brown is a great one to challenge McMorris Rodgers, while Herrera-Beutler has yet to draw a credible opponent as far as I can see.

Also, I detest McMorris Rodgers for the same reason I detest Paul Ryan: they both play the smug "aw shucks, I'm just a mom/dad tryin' [always the elision; sounds folksy and relatable!] to do my best and make this country better. Goshers!" routine even though they have repugnant beliefs. He's chosen to retire, but I really want to see her lose.
OK-05 would certainly be a surprise. While people are pessimistic about GA-06, Cook does rate it Lean Republican, not Likely.

New York's 2nd Congressional District should be competitive, but Cook at least doesn't see Peter King being in any danger. Is Shirley not a strong candidate or is King just too strong an incumbent?

Hey has Greenwald ever said anything about these flagrant assassinations? Does he deny that the Russians did them or does he just say that the CIA is worse?

Trump's entire fucking life has been about revenge, why should being President be any different?

Peter King has historically been a strong hawkish incumbent. I feel the post 9/11 environment fit him well amongst hawks and it didn't hurt his position on Long Island.

Thought of this last night; if the Democrats do indeed take back the house... does Nancy decide to not invite Trump to do a State Of The Union address in 2019 and 2020? Would be a great way of limiting his propaganda.

Student-led rallies around the country aimed to show support for gun rights, but their effort drew smaller-than-expected crowds. Organizers expected a modest turnout, but far fewer people showed up than organizers had hoped.

I mean, we're not gonna do shit under Trump and war's not a realistic scenario with Russia's nukes. What more can western Europe do to put pressure on Russia? I'm honestly ignorant, but I assumed they already had a bunch of sanctions on them.

I believe they are mostly travel restrictions and asset freezes, so suspect they could extend those further, impose tariffs on goods and services, expel diplomats, etc.

Putin doesn't seem like the type to back down when being squeezed though.

Wont whip standing together for cohort Mark Sanford's beyond-the-pale bullying by The Dotard.

Will whip standing together for cohort Jim Jordan's beyond-the-pale complicitness with predatory pedophilia.

I like the guy who's this HYUUGE defender of LGBT people and issues is now stanning for Russia, home to LGBT pogroms.
