Diomande continuing to tear it up for LAFC. 9 goals in his first 7 games.

Love him. Don't know why HULL didn't play him as a straight #9, but I'm thankful because I think it's helped his all around play.

He looks good playing with Blessing and Kaye, but I get the feeling Diego and Benny aren't too keen on him yet. It might be Dio's fighter temperament. He's always pissed off on the pitch and I think it can rub some soccer players the wrong way. He's kinda got a linebackers mentality in the form of a striker. Personally as a fan of American football I love it.

Got Portland up next...then again for the US Open shield. Yeah, they are shaping up to be LAFC's second rivalry behind Carson.

So...LAFC has too many midfielders.

The starting front line of Rossi, Dio and Blessing should be a lock.

Then you've got Beitashour, Zimmerman, Ciman and Harvey as the back line against better offensive opposition.

Vela, other than Dio right now...is the only other automatic slot.

That's eight of the ten spots (not counting keeper) already taken

Two slots left for Atuesta, Feilheber, Lee, Horta, Kaye

And of those five Mark Anthony Kaye imo needs to be one of the remaining two because he currently plays well with Blessing and Dio, he's a box to box...he's the biggest midfield..which helps when he's bodying guys off the ball or attempting hold up play....

Bob is going to have some serious competition on the training pitch.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esfandiar_Baharmast

Geiger got a love tap compared to what Baharmast was got. The vitriol of it all was crazy. People were arguing that refs from nations without a big "football" culture shouldn't be allowed to referee at high levels. The president of Morocco was talking shit about him. There were all these articles written about him screwing up and how FIFA should punish him.

And then the fan video surfaced a few days later and they all STFU and pretended nothing happened.

This pitch is embarrassing. The league needs to put their foot down and force them to build something, even if it's on Long Island or in Jersey.

Doug McIntyre on YahooSports: What will MLS look like when the 2026 World Cup kicks off?
In the euphoric moments after Canada, Mexico and the United States won the right to host the 2026 World Cup following a vote by FIFA member nations last month in Moscow, MLS commissioner Don Garber was asked by a reporter what the decision would mean for the future of the league.

"There's no doubt that this is going to be rocket fuel that is going to help give us the momentum we've been looking for," Garber said.

Hosting the World Cup will be good for soccer in North America and for MLS, the top professional league in the U.S. and Canada. But what will the impact be in practical terms? How different could MLS look in eight years? And will getting the tournament significantly accelerate the domestic league's growth, as Garber's words seemed to suggest?

To help answer those questions, Yahoo Sports asked Garber to elaborate on his "rocket fuel" comment during a recent interview at the league's Manhattan headquarters.

I know it's unlikely, but I'd love to see Ronaldo play in the MLS All-Star game.............partially because I have tickets to the match :)
