What the fuckkkk
Seventeen-year-old Renard Matthews loved the Boston Celtics and playing video games, which is exactly how his family wanted to remember him at his wake on Sunday, WDSU reported.

Matthews' body was dressed in a Kyrie Irving Boston Celtics jersey and Celtics socks. He was posed to hold a video game controller while sitting next to some of his favorite food, photos showed.

On June 25, New Orleans police received a call that a person was "down" and found Matthews' body with a gunshot wound to the head, the Times-Picayune reported.

Will post the picture in spoilers. It's not graphic or anything but just to be on the safe side.

You know what....I'm at the point where as long as they're not hurting anyone, go nuts.

I...I think I expected a casket with the body holding a controller. People should do whatever to celebrate their loved one's lives.

If I weren't being cremated, I'd want me propped up to my mechanical keyboard, mouse, and PC with triple 27" monitors.

Imagine getting your ankles broken on 2K from an angel wearing a durag. That actually sounds divine.

I already believe that displaying the preserved body of the deceased is a disturbing practice to begin with, but this is at least creative.

i've been to one and only one viewing, i don't think i'll ever go to another. if i knew this guy, i couldn't handle seeing him in a casket much less this.

DId they at least hide the bullet hole?

Well, whatever helps them get over the grieving process. Who am I to judge?

Edit: This reminds me of my friend who when he dies wants the old jack in the box music to play at his funeral. He wants to wait until the music ends and the service picks back up for a bit before his body springs up sitting.

I definitely just want to be cremated and take up as little space with my remains as possible, as soon as all the useful parts are parceled out and given to hospitals and science. But if that weren't an option I'd say just go wild with my corpse and stick it in whatever funny pose you want.

Reminds nds meof them old timey photos of families posing with the deceased.

No big deal. All games are multi platform in the afterlife. Go get em, kid.

Honestly that's kinda awesome of the family, most families wouldn't advertise the fact their family member played games when they were alive so this is really respectful of them... kinda.

Looking at the photo now, it honestly seems less creepy than a traditional body-in-a-casket viewing.

I'm indifferent as long as families are not trying to one up each other with their deceased displays.

Shit is ghetto af is my opinion but hey if that's how they want to remember their boy, more power to them.
