So now that Broly is in the new Dragonball movie do you think K. Rool will make it into Smash? 2018 seems to be the year that dreams come true. We got Ridley, now we just need K. Rool to complete the trifecta.

I'm not seeing the correlation between Dragon Ball and Smash. What trifecta?

It's even funnier since his comment makes it seem like it's a positive thing, yet he says Broly being canon is the darkest timeline. Not to mention, Goku getting into Smash would easily surpass K. Rool as that would just top the fukkery off of 2018.

As much as I would love bosses in an Adventure Mode, I dunno if we'll even get significant single player content.

*complains about anime talk in smash thread*
*brings totally unrelated anime character talk into smash thread*

Well, okay then

You gotta admit, shadowed red, the lone tear, it's all a bit much.

Plus wasn't the SSE Charizard wild?

Charizard was captured by Pokemon Trainer during SSE, and become his Pokemon/partner at the end. Then Pokemon Trainer have been battling it out with Charizard for like 5 years and half before he become his own character in Smash 4! :P

List of Bosses that would work very well in Smash Bros' Battle Boss mode

Porky - Same as Brawl
Petey - Petey need quite a lot of adjusts to become his own boss, rather than holding two cages
Rayquaza - Same as Brawl
Ridley - Clone of Ridley being a boss battle (work just similar as Brawl)
King K Rool or Sir Frederick - Either works very well
Dark Matters or Marx
Black Knight - Superarmored Ike clone
Medusa or Hades
DJ Octavio - function just like Splatoon 1 Boss Battle where you have to avoid getting hit by the punches, missiles, etc. And you have to hit those hands to send it back to the boss.
Andross - but function differently than DJ Octavio but you have to attack the hands to able to get his head into a daze in order to damage it
Black Metal - same as stage hazard in Gaur Plains, and they could adjust something to suit as a boss battle
Ganon - they could borrow the assets from Ganondorf's final smash, and come up with interesting movesets for a boss-liek battle.
Giga Bowser - Bring Smash 4's Giga Bowser back as a boss battle
Sephiroth - swift swordifghter with a lot of quick dash with slashes, etc
M. Bison or Akuma - just like how they fight in the game (as secret boss or boss)
Dr. Wily
Dr. Robotnik
Lucien from Bayonetta
Someone from Metal Gear Solid
Ghosts from Pac Man would be difficult to put together where you have to learn how to dodge those ghosts until power pellet popped up so you can damage the ghosts
Petey was probably going to be a boss at some point in Smash 4. There were unused, but new, listings for him

Broly has nothing to do with K. Rool. Pretty dumb comment.

I figure in late fall we'll get a Smash Direct that'll detail the modes in the game, and one of them will be Adventure-like. Though I suspect it'll be closer to Melee Adventure or Smash Run than the SSE.

Given the lackluster reception to Smash Run, I'm not sure we'll even get that. Wouldn't they have to upscale the enemies to HD? Too much work for a minor mode.

I forgot to talk but Pokémon Trainer should be called Red and the female one Leaf. The fact that they call him in that generic way instead of his name is lame.

Good list, but I would have some other bosses instead of the characters that are already playable (even though they're the most iconic villains).

Andross in the monkey form really would be a great idea for a boss considering he would never make sense playable.

It's the first name suggested besides Red/Green (name for the other two characters already) and Leaf was used in the internal data.

Maybe if we get a Pokegirl figurine of her like all the other girls they've done (last one they've made is the SM girl, and before that they did May, Serena and Hilda and Rosa), she'll have a name in canon.

Regarding DLC, I still feel convinced that this game ends up with even more than what Smash For had, especially with how small the amount of newcomers in the base roster will be.

And 3 of Smash's DLC were just cut characters returning like Mewtwo, Roy and Lucas, so it feels like we only got 4 new characters from DLC last time.

This time around obviously since all cut characters are back, we'll have all new reps from the start. It's more exciting.

I mean, Pokémon used to say "mizuki is just a fan name" in the same way to the SM protagonist, then they made the figure and she was named Mizuki like the fans always said. I think Leaf is pretty much the name in the same way.

It's lame that Red and Leaf don't have their names in Smash.

If Fountain of Dreams isn't in the base game.

It's for sure coming as a DLC stage. We had some last time with Dreamland and Hyrule 64. Maybe make some of the stages that were unplayable as well. Like where you fight Metal Mario in 64.

Yep, hopefully they make a figure of her soon. I'm surprised it took this long to her high quality pokegirl figurines. I guess in the earlier days of the fandom Nintendo was concerned about Pokemon's kid-friendly image, now they know all the original fans are 25-30 year old adults.

I thought I read earlier in this thread that people that hacked the Metal Mario stage to be playable found that it absolutely sucked for anything other than the Metal Mario fight?

I can't remember, did fountain of dreams have something going on with the floor that affected game play? Like it was slippery or the water pushed you slightly or something?

I still hope at least 90% of stages comeback. I can understand some of the redundant ones being left out.

I still wonder why Sakurai chose Leaf for Red's alt than any of the more popular female leads in Pokemon.

I don't really get why people really want to see Metal Cavern coming back? It's really too small for any good battles.

Good list, but I would have some other bosses instead of the characters that are already playable (even though they're the most iconic villains).

Andross in the monkey form really would be a great idea for a boss considering he would never make sense playable.

Right, I'm kinda stumped with Giga Bowser and Ridley. I guess like Baron suggested, replacing Ridley with Super Metroid Mother Brain.

Regarding DLC, I still feel convinced that this game ends up with even more than what Smash For had, especially with how small the amount of newcomers in the base roster will be.

I'm not even sure that we would even get any DLC support later on. Again, I'm not that worried since I really want to focus on Smash Ultimate and trying to 100% it as soon as possible so I would able to focus on finding my mains. (Duck Hunt is guaranteed atm)

How about Super Metroid Mother Brain instead?

That way, we get an excuse to get her boss theme.

That's good idea. I didn't really think about that. I'm willing to open to any suggestions for bosses in general.
