I got Gears, Halo and CoD, but I'm kind of in the mood of something new. No BR, please. Although if someone puts a good word for Darwin Project I might try that.

Any recommendations?

I've had fun with Paladins by myself. Plus it's free, so no risk if you don't like it

Do you like Star Wars at all? Battlefront 2 really isn't that bad now. And it's dirt cheap. I've never really seen any kind of team work used at all, I don't think the game even has voice chat in game. It's pretty much always lone wolf. I've never played it with friends, always alone.

Darwin Project runs like ass on the fat. My brother made me play a match because he loves it on PC, and coached me, but even he felt bad for me playing int its current state :D

I'd suggest Titanfall 2, as it worked quite well for me without teaming up. Or you can check out the Battlefield games on EA Access (TF2 might be there as well).

Titanfall 2.
You get the best FPS single player campaign this gen, and the way the movement works on multiplayer (very goddamn quick) means that even when playing with a party on chat, you basically end up doing your own thing. All you really need to be mindful of is only using your Titan when the majority of your team are ready to use it.

Titanfall 2's campaign is so good that everyone who tells you its not good is wrong

Titanfall 2 has one of the best campaigns this gen and a fantastic multiplayer game mode to boot.

Doom and Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare are also greats for single player content.

Here battlefront 2's pretty good now

Titanfall 2 (SP is a bit overrated but MP is great) Titanfall 1 has a large playerbase and is also on gamepass.

I don't care for fortnite but it's 50v50 plays completely different and is quite fun.
You mentioned CoD but MW3 is BC and has very little hackers. 10-20k players.

Also PvZ2 still has a healthy playerbase on Xbox. Mostly kids playing so you can feel like a god

Playing like crazy Battlefront 2 on the One S and it's damn good!

Got it at launch with a good discount and like everyone I was disappointed by the star card system and lootbox but now it's just super fun with a lot of diversity.

I hope EA won't abandon it once BF5 will be released.

Doom MP is like a slightly more shitty version of Halo 4 MP. Give that a try.
Also this one! Doom MP since the 6.66 patch of march 2017 with all the dlcs free, the game is super fun! Really worth a try!

Another vote for Titanfall 2 - possibly best FPS SP & MP this gen.

Don't even bother with a mic or teams, mute everyone and have a blast.

Get a month of EA Access would give you Titanfall 2, BF1, PvZ2 and Battlefront.

Get a 1 year EA Access subscription for US$30, half the price of a new game. You'll have access to:

  • Titanfall 2
  • Battlefield 1
  • Battlefield 4
  • Plants vs Zombies 2
  • Star Wars: Battlefront
  • Battlefield: Hardline
  • Mass Effect: Andromeda
Titanfall 2 is one of the best games this gen, and probably the best shooter. For half the price of a new game, a year of these titles (+ many others across different genres) is an amazing value.

This.

Or even if $30 is more than you want to spend, just start with $5 for a month.

Burnout Paradise Remastered will be in there soon too!

I've been playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 exclusively online for months now. Looks great on a 4k screen. Sounds amazing with surround sound. Game play is a lot of fun once you are familiar with it.

Titanfall 2 is the best solo option, don't really need teammates to wreck in.

Titanfall 2 is probably the best choice.

I can't stress enough how good the game is from great campaign to shooting and running mechanics, thats so addicting that I have a hard time going back to any other shooter this generation and wasnt particularly interested in multiplayer, but now playing it almost daily.

+1 for Battlefront 2. It's a really great game for playing solo and I think it's pretty cheap nowadays.

Overwatch (as long as you stick to Quickplay and do your thing, competitive will frustrate the shit out of you solo).

Titanfall 2 (superb campaign and amazing multiplayer)

DOOM (Amazing campaign)
